There is still confusion over whether Govenor Palin supports amnesty for illegal aliens.
In this article read at Newsbusters, Palin does support a "pathway to citizenship" for illegal aliens.
But what is not clear is if she supports a pathway to citizenship only "after" they return to their country of origin. And then, get in the back of the line to come to America "legally" for citizenship.
Or, if she supports a pathway to citizenship while illegals are still here. Without first requiring them to return to there country of origin.
Does anyone have an answer to that question?
Excerpt from Newsbusters:
"So, what else is in the Hotair story? Let's take a look:
"Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?"
Palin: "No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules."
"Looks like Governor Palin doesn't support amnesty."
"To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants? "
Palin: "I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country."

Palin, the more she says the more I hope she runs in 2012.
There is already a pathway to citizenship, people use it every day.
I don’t see anybody else.

“”Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?”
Palin: “No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules.”
So... what does she mean by “not total amnesty”? Does she support ‘half-way amnesty’? ‘Semi-total amnesty’? ‘Pay a ten dollar fine amnesty’?
Whatever it is, it doesn’t sound encouraging. It sure doesn’t sound like she’s all that different from the crowd we already have, who have forced de facto amnesty on us by not deporting illegals.
“NO to any plan that allows the lawbreakers to stay in this country illegally while attempting to “document” themselves - return home and ENTER the US the way all the legal immigrants are entering. PERIOD. End of discussion.”
That is my position. What I’m trying to find out is what Palin’s support for a “pathway to citizenship” entails. See the question posed above in the post thread.-Thanks.
As stated, we already have a legal path to citizenship. If she does not take a strong stance against those who are here illegally she has lost my support. Illegal immigration, is the greatest threat to this country. I hate hearing the phrase, “well we can’t just send all 12 million back to where they came from”. How idiotic, these hordes of lawbreakers did not come here all at once. Start by taking away the incentives, ie. welfare, food stamps, education, housing, jobs, etc....
This is one of the areas I want to learn Palin’s views. No nuancing the issue. You are either for or against illegal immigration. This “pathway to citizenship” nonsense is just code for amnesty. The laws are already in place for legal U.S. citizenship. No more laws are required.

Palin Tweets on Driver’s Licenses for Illegal Immigrants
By Tim Lindell
Earlier tonight, Governor Palin tweeted the following:
Rep.Lynn’s good HB3 Visa/Drivers Lic law:”If u dont have legal right to walk down AKn street, why should u have right to drive same street?”
(Wish more people would have this view.)
Palin: "I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country."
This is amnesty. Any legislation that legalizes the status of those who broke our laws by entering our country illegally and allows them to stay is amnesty.
Anyone who entered our country illegally should not be allowed to reenter it. This touchback nonsense is just a scam. Mike Pence tried it.
Ha ha ha. It’s an OLD NEWS way back February 2009.
It’s clear.
You don’t shoot persons, legal and illegals.
You need to background check first. There are reasons why they are here, including those Legal Americans who are HARBORING illegals for “MONEY”.
Surely, you want to know their stories first and learn about the SYNDICATES operating behind.
I see no damaging things here. FOLLOW THE RULES.
Is that NOT enough?
Plus, UNIVISION made it as a GOTCHA question, during that time, Palin was still Governor and undergoing post-election slimes (read: total kill by Dems/MSM.)
Plus, an Alaskan Governor really knows the value of Labor force.
Alaska needs people to tap its resources. Dirty work with good pays ... “dirty” job means that the Legal Lazy Hippies in Lower 48 don’t want to take.
All he has to do is an about face, and follow the path he used to get here. When he gets back to the beginning, he will magically be in a place where he is a citizen.
Easy, huh?
That COULD go either way...either they have to go home first, or they don't.
I'd like to see her CLARIFY.
There are many, many pro-amnesty pols who make pretty much the same statements as Palin on this.
What Im trying to find out is what Palins support for a pathway to citizenship entails. See the question posed above in the post thread.-Thanks.
At this stage I don’t think it’s that big of an issue. Until Palin decides she wants to run for another elective office or is appointed to one that this issue has some bearing on then I’m not that concerned with what her thoughts are. At the proper time if she does get into the fray or is proposed for an appointment then yes, hold her high heels to the fire and get and straight answer.
Seems pretty clear to me. Our troops, including her son, don’t fight for unbroken laws. They fight to uphold the laws of the land and our Constitution. That would not include illegal aliens. But she completely understands wanting to come to the greatest country on earth ever given to man by God.
Obama doesn’t get it, but she does.
You hit the nail on the head!
That’s why I posted this. To find out if anyone knows an answer.
