Democrats: Outing Valerie Plame Bad, Outing Karzai's Brother Good
11/3/09 | Laissez-Faire Capitalist

Democrats said that the outing of a CIA agent, personnel, whatever, was bad, and said that someone's head in the Bush Administration had to roll. Democrats wanted Cheney, but didn't get him.

When the New York Times outs Karzai's brother as supposedly being paid by the CIA to do who knows what, Democrats act as if it is no big deal.

What gives?

According to Democrats, someone at the New York Times must be punished.

I mean, if someone had to be punished for outing Valerie Plame, then the same holds true for the New York Times, right?

Or are Democrats and the New York Times hypocrites?

Rhetorical question.

Just the tip of the iceberg showing itself again.

Plame was outed by the CIA itself, which means it was a fake controversy, which is to say, “yet” another fake controversy. Meanwhile the Times printed on page one details about CIA operations one right after another. Details about how we were tracking Al Qaeda money transfers, tracking Bin Ladin’s satellite telephone, details about Al Qaeda cell phone communications, details about prisoner transfers, CIA safe houses, even ID numbers on CIA flights and aircraft. Those were real security breaches perpetrated by insiders who used the Times as their safe drop. Their handlers could read all about it over tea and no one had to run any risk of getting caught and imprisoned.

It disturbs me that no one went to jail over any of this.

So exposing CIA connections to Karzai’s family is not surprising. Its not surprising that CIA has a relationship with them, and its not surprising that traitors on the inside would expose it and its not surprising that the Times would let itself be used for the information transfer. Its what they do.

For the life of me, I could never figure out all the feigned outrage over Plame. It was the biggest non-story I have seen in my life.

Good post, which brings me back to the heart of this issue, which is really the most important thing to me:

If Democrats and/or the New York Times wanted someone punished for the outing of Valerie Plame, then will they call for someone to be punished in the outing of Karzai’s brother?

Rhetorical question. They only call for punishment and investigations when a Republican is president.

Where the HELL are the GOP DEMANDING an investigation? The dems demanded investigations into EVERYTHING associated with president Bush, but the GOP has apparently had their tongues cut out even in the face of BLATANT VIOLATIONS by democrats and the president- the current GOP is a sad shell of the party it once was!

It is a good rhetorical question, because she was not “outed”. Her employment was confirmed by CIA itself, which doesn’t happen if you are covert. Who outed her? CIA did. Novak called them and asked.

So, she wasn’t outed. Fake controversy. Fake investigation. Fake prosecution.

But the Dems were responsible for a long list of classified operations blown. They continue to blow classified operations. Just a couple of months back, Pelosi revealed publicly the location of our Predator bases in the Afghan theater. They can not be trusted with access to classified information; whatever they know winds up on page one of the New York Times within hours.

The Karzai situation is just one more of a long line of Democrat betrayals of classified information.

Indeed, the GOP’s silence on this is deafening.

Democrats are hypocrites through and through, like this thread shows.

Additional proof of Democrat hypocrisy:

When a Republican is caught fooling around on their spouse, Democrats raise the hypocrisy issue. The GOP doesn’t call them on their hypocrisy, though.

When a Democrat politician is caught, Democrats say that it is “just sex,” and that it is a “private matter.”

Republicans, though, view it as a bad thing to cheat on your spouse, regardless of political party. Democrats say one thing when one of them is involved in hanky-panky, but say quite another thing when a Republican is involved in some hanky-panky. Therefore, even greater hypocrisy on the part of Democrats.

Democrat betrayals, Democrat hypocrisy: the essence of this thread.

And no investigation being called for by the GOP, as another poster here noted. The GOP could really stick it to the New York Times. Really stick it to them.
