What Did The White House Give Dede Scozzafava For Her Endorsement?
The Hill/ The lid ^ | 11/01/09 | The Lid

This morning the Huffington Post reported earlier today, that the White House wanted Dede Scozzafava to endorse her former democratic opponent in the NY 23 election, in the worst way:

In the White House, at the very least, officials are bracing themselves for a loss, calling Scozzafava's departure bad news for Owens. The one hope, they say, is if Scozzafava -- who has more philosophical similarities with the Democratic Party than Hoffman's brand of Republicanism -- was to formally endorse her former rival.

"This hurts," one administration official told the Huffington Post on Saturday, "unless we can get her on board."

And on Sunday, the White House all but confirmed that it was after Scozzafava's endorsement. Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Obama's senior confidant, Valerie Jarrett said the administration "would love to have -- of course, have her support."

By now the news is out that Scozzafava gave the endorsement Capital Hill newspaper, The Hill, reports that that the White House did get the endorsement...in the worst way:

Just a little congressional race a full three years before the next presidential election, but yet it provides the clearest indication of exactly who all the major candidates are: Here are my grades from a conservative perspective.

Sarah Palin

First on October 22, Sarah Palin came out on her Facebook page with a strong endorsement of the Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman. A clear shot across the bow of the GOP establishment favoring principle over party. Palin cited Reagan’s ‘time for choosing’ and the principles of “smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty “. Palin’s bold action against the party establishment further established her strong conservative credentials. GRADE: A

Tim Pawlenty

Three days after the Palin endorsement, Pawlenty followed suit and endorsed Hoffman. He gave a solid endorsement. But Pawlenty seems jealous of Palin’s popularity and appears just trying to keep up with Palin among the conservative wing. Pawlenty scored a few points with conservatives for doing the right thing, but would have come out a bigger winner if he endorsed sooner. GRADE: B -

Mike Huckabee

On October 15, Huckabee made it very clear he could never support a pro-abortion candidate, but yet did not endorse Hoffman despite saying he agrees with him on most issues. Huckabee had a chance to publicly be the first leading candidate to make the endorsement, but instead showed he feared going against the establishment. Huckabee has now finally endorsed Hoffman, but only after Scozzafava threw in the towel. GRADE: C -

Mitt Romney

“I have chosen not to endorse the Republican candidate in New York’s 23rd District.” Basically identical to Huckabee, but Romney did not articulate why he could not endorse Scozzafava and gave no praise to Hoffman. The thought of going against the GOP and supporting a conservative did not even appear to cross Romney’s mind. GRADE D

Newt Gingrich

Not only did Newt endorsed Scozzafava, but he attacked those who dared support Hoffman. Gingrich completely mischaracterized this election, insisting it was anti 10th Amendment to go against the party operatives to endorse the conservative. Newt’s star has fallen far since leading the 1994 revolution, and instead of being a visionary is now a simple establishment guy. Now, hypocritically he has finally endorsed Hoffman. GRADE: ZERO

I can’t see how anyone with half-a-brain would be influenced in the slightest by Scozaffava’s endorsement of anyone.

It’s a union thing. Her hubby endorsed Owens just before she did, for his support of card-check.

Schumer has been burning up the phone with her and “her people”

It looks like there is some dimoKKKRAT involvement with Dede. It probably did not take much to get her to switch her support to Owens. This just makes Newt and the RNC look even worse.

Brand? Exact what was so Republican about a pro-tax, pro-abortion, pro-gay marraige, etc, about Scuzzyfovaa? This woman is a mean faced, clip haired liberal freak.

The Dim tried to bribe Lieberman. Yes, I am aware Dede is no Lieberman, but still and all . . . .

I wonder if those 20% of voters who were supporting Scozzafava at the end were just registered Republicans who vote for the GOP candidate no matter what, or if they were liberals who thought she was the better liberal than the Democrat?

If it’s the former, Hoffman will get their votes. If it’s the latter, Owens will.

All the talk is about ScuzzyFloozie and who bribed her into endorsing her opponent. I want to see and hear what the RNC idiot who anointed this traitor has to say in a vain attempt to defend themselves.

Then I want them drawn and quartered.

Reporters keep saying that people are supporting Hoffman instead of Dede because of her stands on Abortion and Gay Marriage. It is so much more than that, she has liberal stances on card check, porkulus and the public option of Obamacare. Many of the people in the tea party movement are pro-life, but it is fiscal responsibility and personal liberty that drive the tea party movement, Dede Scozzafava fails on both points.

YEP: This is the new script (lie) from the propoganda: That Doug Hoffman was targed by Republican, Conservative voters becuase of his pro-marriage, pro-life positions which differed from DeDe Scozofava, while this is true (either they- The MSP is too stupid or deliberately) lying by omission by not including that SHE was also a big supporter of Card-Check, Bank Bailouts, Stimulus, and Tax Increases. (Otherwise why was The Clug for Growth such an early supporter of Hoffman-who supported the opposite positions on every one of these points..)!?
