Please everyone! Pray for Addie Ruth Halbin to Francis X. Seelos taht she is cured of all her cancers & alzheimers.
Newbie, don’t you mean to pray to God or Christ?
Prayer to anyone but God is not just stupid, it's blasphemous.
Welcome to Free Republic.
?
I think this is one for you and your ping list...
Pray to who??
I know some pray to saints, instead of God, but I checked; Francis Xavier Seelos is not even a saint.

That said..... I hope and pray (to God) that Addie Ruth Halbin will be blessed by our Father.
Well there’s some fine Christian charity right there.
The poster is looking for prayer, apparently for a dear loved one, and the FReepers here chose that time to chastise him for his Catholic beliefs.
Nice.
Better one says, “I will pray for this person to Our Lord only. Prayers up.”
Tact is lacking here sometimes.
I will pray for your Loved one.
Isn't he one of the security guys on the Jerry Springer show?
A common mistake.
Let me make it even more clear: the presumption that “prayer to anyone but God is not just stupid, it’s blasphemous” is a common mistake.
Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, C.Ss.R.
Often the faithful will pray specifically that a person whose cause is open will intercede to heal one of their loved ones, because 2 miracles are necessary for canonization. There is one miracle attributed to Bl. Fr. Seelos' intercession already under investigation.
Not likely, it would make more sense to pray to a cabbage, if you choose to pray to anyone/anything but God
BTW, "God is not mocked"
God bless you for getting to the real point of a desperate post. Too many here can’t wait to unzipped their dogma and swing it around in an obnoxious superiority dance. You showed compassion and care beyond yourself, something many “Christians” here don’t apparently have time for.
Pray means “ask.” I presume you never ask anyone to pray for you.
Blessed Seelos, intercede for this woman, we PRAY you.
The rest of you: pray does not mean 'worship', it means 'entreat'.
Asking a Saint to pray for you is perfectly reasonable, just like asking FReepers to pray for you.
See for instance Revelation 5:8, where John depicts the saints in heaven offering our prayers to God under the form of "golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints."
Prayers for her health.
>>Too many here cant wait to unzipped their dogma and swing it around in an obnoxious superiority dance. <<
May I quote you?
That says it all.
