In a recent change, the Obama Administration has ordered federal authorities to not go after medical marijuana facilities in states where they are allowed under state law. This comes after a recent Gallop poll showing that support for legalization has reached a new high. So what will this do to America? ...

The war on pot is a failure. There’s nothing conservative about nanny statism.

Well, if I were a conspiracy theorist I would think that having a large portion of the population high so they don't have any motivation or drive would be a great distraction so having 25-35% unemployment wouldn't really bother the dopers. Having a large percentage of people that don't give a shit about anything would make controlling them a whole lot easier. That is "IF" I were a conspiracy theorist.

Why do you care what other adults do to their own body in their own home?
If smoking pot makes them stupid and lazy, it should make it easier for you to get ahead.

I know plenty of Pot smokers that hold down good paying jobs without any issues. Sounds like you are buying into the hype that once it is legal the whole country will all of a sudden become mindless zombies.

The war on drugs has always been about power at the federal level. No knock raids, asset forfeiture, etc.
I can’t stand Obama but this should be a no-brainer in anyone’s opinion. It’s a state issue. Let the states decide. The feds should have never been involved in the first place.

Legalization would create a huge influx of new users, and therefore a sudden flood of addicts. This is not to mention what will happen when most of these new users eventually move on to harder drugs.

So which is worse, unproductive citizens or stupid ones. Anyone who believes this drivel falls in the latter category.

At least unproductive citizens know what they are doing, and are not dragging the country the wrong direction; they are just coasting. Besides, in a free country, you cannot mandate citizens be productive.

I find it amazing people believe that there are millions of people who would immediately flock to drugs if they were legalized. But it does seem to come from people who live and breath on everything the government commands them to do. Laws are only as good as the people that make them.

This would be good for the conservatives....most”pot heads” will be those on the far liberal end of the spectrum...let them live in a fog...they will be further subdued and therefore irrelevant in civil discourse. With ACORN out of the picture hopefully, their votes will not be cast by unknown people....win win for us!

Oh good grief. Feds decide not to go after laws that the states voted in and now we are a nation of potheads?
This is just stupid.

Having a large portion of the population imprisoned because of drugs would be an even easier way to control them.

In a free country, you can be stupid. You can be lazy. You can be fat. You can be racist. You can be high. You can be angry. You can be ignorant.
You can be all of these things or none of these things. It's your choice. Not the government's.

Exactly! I know a judge who used it as a sleeping aid so he didn’t feel like a zombie when he woke up.
Next folks will be saying that smoking pot makes people dance on moving trains.
