Buried in the administration's multiple inflammatory statements on Fox News may be their strategy in all of this. In fact, Anita Dunn, David Axelrod, and Rahm Emanuel made hints at it in their statements. Here's the pertinent portion from Axelrod.
The bigger thing is that other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way, and were not going to treat them that way. Were going to appear on their shows. Were going to participate, but understanding that they represent a point of view.

This exchange took place this morning during the White House press briefing:
Tapper: Its escaped none of our notice that the White House has decided in the last few weeks to declare one of our sister organizations not a news organization and to tell the rest of us not to treat them like a news organization. Can you explain why its appropriate for the White House to decide that a news organization is not one
Gibbs: Jake, we render, we render an opinion based on some of their coverage and the fairness that, the fairness of that coverage.

We need to watch what other news outlets do. If they play Obamas game. We’ve got ourselves a chess match. Scary
My question is, is the media-formerly-known-as-main stream going to go along with being the President’s lap dog, especially now that Anita Dunn has explicitly stated that the administration “controlled the media” during the campaign?
Isn’t this the same thing Hugo Cavez is doing down South?
Much of their media has already been nationalized... we’ll call it “bailed out” up here.
Buried in the administration's multiple inflammatory statements on Fox News may be their strategy...... Anita Dunn, David Axelrod, and Rahm Emanuel hint at it in their statements.
The strategy is this: WH attacks indicate Fox News is having a devastating effect on "their vote"---Democrats and Independents (they've already written off Republicans).
The WH slyly indicates FOX is am arm of the Republican Party ONLY BECAUSE they want to poison FOX in the minds of Democrats and Independents.
The incompetents in the WH can't even get this right----the more they attack FOX the more people tune in.
Here's what FOX's Glenn Beck did (they are not all Republicans):
The massive crowds (9/12 pics left) are VERY significant---b/c the LSM measures crowds by the
size of civil rights protests (right pic); which LSM points out extended AROUND the Reflecting Pool.

Hopefully Murdoch and Ailes can ride this out, but just look at what these totalitarians have forced on other entire industries by threatening the “uncooperative” with financial ruin
I have a feeling that rahmbo is a sick little puppy and an unbalanced ideologue slickmeister who would not be taking on the nation's largest cable news network if he didn't intend to co opt them, by whatever means
Nowadays, all you need is for someone from 1989 to show up and take a look around. They'd faint dead away.
The more the White Hut attacks Fox News, the higher its ratings. GO FOX NEWS!
Part of the Fox strategy is simply to have them consume air time on themselves. Media personalities are a bit narcississtic, and talking about themselves for hours is a lot of fun for a narcissist. Especially if they think it is they are of monumental importance.
Every minute spent on themselves is a minute not spent broadcasting something else about the BO administration and its gang of Nazis.
LMBO!
What’s the over under on Tapper moving the Fox News. One year, less, more?
"First, I'll do my Baghdad Bob impersonation, then I'll
go into my Vinnie Barbarino act. Who? What? Where?"
This is why politics is fun again, stuff like this.
This is a historic opportunity for FNC: To have a pure democrat federal government, with FNC being the lone independent news source to challenge the power.
It makes FNC fun to watch. I watch MSNBC more this year than the last few, to see what they are up to, and watch dems civil war. As much as I love FNC, I will always see what the other side says.
The White House has to know the truth... so why are they taking FOX on? There’s got to be something here we’re missing. Obama and boys ( I’m only referring to White men in the administration ) aren’t fools. They’ve got something up their sleeves... What could it be? One in five adults are watching FOX News at night... and the numbers are higher with the administrations help. Something’s up...
For the first time, I am not so scared. I was really afraid of where this country was headed, but more and more I see that the people are taking this in their own hands. To the shagrin of the white house we ARE smart enough (don’t tell Bill Maher) to filter out the truth regardless of the gunk they spew at us. Thanks in great part to FOX. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel good, but I do see a Teenie little light at the end of a very long tunnel.
On a regular basis I tweet stuff to Jake Tapper and once in a while he (and Mark Knoller NBC) will respond in a neutral fashion.
My belief is that to some degree, the media in finally being dragged (kicking and screaming) into admitting that obama is a dangerous fraud
Two spots were not ‘controlled’
Saddleback church (above my pay grade)
and
Joe the plumber ‘spread the wealth around’
And that is why they ‘controlled’ the rest of the campaign.
Obama is as radical as you suspect he is, but if he had spoken freely and openly, all of America would have known it.
Not just half.
IMO the white house either “knows” (or believes) that Glen Beck has, in fact, uncovered yet to be shared new evidence that will blow the lid off
Thus they are pulling out all the stops to try and get other media not to report what may soon be surfaced on Fox News
