White House Delays Troop Decision in Afghanistan
The Provocateur ^ | 10/17/2009 | Mike Volpe

The White House is now signaling that no troop decision will be made until after the Afghanistan election is resolved.

It would be irresponsible to send more troops to Afghanistan until a legitimate and credible government is in place, the White House and top Democrats said Sunday.

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said the most critical issue facing U.S. strategy is whether the Afghans can be an effective partner in destroying Al Qaeda safe havens and bringing stability to the region.

"It would be reckless to make a decision on U.S. troop levels if in fact you haven't done a thorough analysis of whether in fact there's an Afghan partner ready to fill that space that U.S. troops would create and become a true partner in governing," Emanuel said in an interview Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

“How many soldiers will die because of this incompetence?”

Or be injured?

These aren’t their sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands or wives.

Don’t you think Gen. McChrystal knew about the pending Paki invasion of the “tribal land”? It would have been really nice to have a lot of troops to close the back door on the Taliban while the Pakis stormed in the front?

Obama is a “F...Tard!

Truth be known ...

They're waiting for the mid-term elections to pass.

That's all this cheap political game is about.

Has Obama taken that approach with healthcare reform, Mr. Emanuel?

Saw Britt Hume and Kristol talk about this enraged today..the admin knew about karzai not being squeaky clean way before, Iraq had the same mess—we weren’t sure half the time WHO was running that country but Bush never cut back on his troops,...
And what does the election have to do with our getting security in that country.?Karzai may even refuse to HAVE a run off..

Hey Bamster, why don’t you bring the troops home until after the election and THEN decide what you want to do...That makes as much sense.

This is really funny when you think about it. Here is a President who refuses to prove his own legitimacy who is sticking his nose into the legitimacy of other countries. First Honduras, now Afghanistan.

This guy is a joke and every terrorist country in the world know’s it.

This reminds me of an old Chicago Tribune cartoon, entitled, "If Lawyers Fought Fires Like they Fight Crime," probably from the 1930's, that a one time colleague of mine had posted in his office. A crowd of lawyers was stading around a burning apartment building that ocntained a desperate woman with a baby in arms. Two were drafting a document for all the others to sign; they agreed thy'd take action against the fire once all had unanimously agreed on what to do.

Can you imagine what our armed forces are thinking at this moment. No one coming to back them up and they are on their own.

OTOH, wouldn’t implementing McChrystal’s plan go a long way towards ensuring the elections were legit and without outside interference? Why, it’s almost as if Obama wanted them to fail! He’s channeling Limbaugh :)
