A mad man soon to have nuclear weapons and missiles capable of carrying them to Israel, Europe and other places.
I agree, and with the election of Obama, Iran has another roadblock removed...
I also claim that there are way too many people in this world that are incapable of rational, logistical thought because of their refusal to allow other thoughts to enter into the process.
This is not to mean that those that are dogmatic about a particular thing are closed minded so much as, they have satisfactorilly determined a thought process and have rejected some of the elements that were part of the input.
Maybe I'm not explaining myself very well ... but I know what I'm trying to say.
And Brezynski’s great advice to send up US aircraft to stop any Israeli plans crossing ‘our’ airspace in Iraq.
She'd interview Satan, wouldn't she?
He’s his own worst enemy.
Obviously the argument he’s trying to make (but very poorly) is that yes there was a holocaust, but it was carried out by the germans, not the arabs, so why shouldn’t the germans provide the Jews with a piece of German land for their state? Why did the rest of the world (UN) give the jews a piece of palestine?
If he were to make this argument more concisely, it would put the west, and germany in particular, in a much more defensive position.
A useful question to explore, if only so we can answer it.
The British took up the disposition of the lands we call Israel and Jordan in the early 1920s. They had the authority to do this off their own bat, as they had taken the land off the Ottoman Turks: but they also had the agreement of the League of Nations (note: not United Nations) and also the blessing of the US Congress (in 1923).
They formed the British Mandate which ran until 1948. The British Mandate was expressly considered to be the Jewish Homeland from its inception - all of it, including Jordan.. The 'Land of the Jews' shrank due to concessions given to increasingly whiney, bloodthirsty and violent Arabs, and in the end the British departed the mandate - shaking the dust off their feet as they did so.
By the end of the Mandate period the Jewish state was expressly situated in the Western Subdivision of the Palestine Mandate along the Jordan River-Gulf of Aqaba line. The Jews seized the opportunity to formalise this - no-one else was going to do it for them - but the right to live in the Land of Israel was given to them by the League of Nations and ratified by Congress in 1922 and 1923. Nothing whatever to do with Hitler!
So much for primary right to the land. Now for the 'occupied territories'. The lands won off Jordan and Eygpt in the 1967 six-day war legally belong to Israel in the same way that Konigsberg - now Kalingrad - belong to Russia. As lands taken from an invading aggressor, Gaza and the West Bank - and of course Jerusalem - belong to Israel.
That was a very educational post. Thank you.
She doesn’t realize that she would have better ratings if the news she reported was that she refused to interview the guy...
ML/NJ
This picture must have come from a 5th grader she knows.

yes, but i'm not so sure it's about ratings. the media has to be one of the most powerful weapons of manipulation in a free society.
I said before "she'd interview Satan." I'm sure we can count on her to interview the antichrist.
I suppose for her it is about ratings. Not only does ratings = attention, but each ratings-point is to her like another dagger in the back of one of the conservatives she so rabidly hates.
Just recently I read the historical novel by Leon Uris “The Haj” (great book on several levels), and it pretty much covers the events that led to the creation of Israel, with wonderful dramatization.
Bottom line though, history doesn’t determine who owns what. YOU ONLY OWN WHAT YOU’RE WILLING AND ABLE TO DEFEND, BY WHATEVER MEANS AVAILABLE. And “means” can be anything from public opinion, to laws and guns. And this applies to individuals as well as countries.
