GEN McChrystal is a great man. I would follow him to hell and back. I would be working for him, if not for my situation and objections to Obama as CINC/POTUS.

There is nothing official about this post. It's just what I've been hearing from a son-in-law who recently retired from the Army. He was a Col. assigned to CentCom at MacDill AFB in Tampa. Since his retirement last year he's been working full time for one of the civilian contractors who handle so much of the work over there. He spends two weeks or so at a time somewhere ‘over there’. He won't tell even his wife where he is or what he does.

His take on the situation is that Obama has absolutely no intention whatsoever of doing anything else to win the war. Period. He's content to withdraw support at every level and let it die on the vine. Problem is he doesn't have the balls to say so, so he will just keep voting present and punting on third down until it's too late to save the day over there.

Again, there is nothing official about this. Just scuttlebutt, but from someone who walks the walk and lives the life.

I was posting on another thread about this.

[”Why send soldiers to die if, maybe, you just can’t win?”]

Britain is making plans to send up to 1,000 extra troops to Afghanistan to meet the call for reinforcements made by the US commander in Kabul.

Britain would then have about 10 thousand troops there. The US has about 62 thousand troops.

Strangely, Britian thinks it's important to keep fighting there! Obama wants to FAIL.

.

Obama is becoming a cross between Jimmy Carter and LBJ now

Afghanistan may be his Waterloo either way

Yes, two different articles today saying;

‘Bet the dems didn’t realize they elected another Carter’, and;

“Afghanistan will be Obama’s Vietnam!”

I need to go talk to some people in Freepmail and email. Be back in a bit.

Today I called our congressman and senator, also Kyl the Minority Whip and Boehner the Minority leader, McCain the supporter of the surge, and a live "volunteer operator" on the White House Comment Line to urge more troops for Afghanistan.

Obama was coy with Stephanopolus, saying he wants "to be sure we have the right strategy".

I said, "Strategy is for McCrystal, the professional whom Obama appointed--not for Obama".

Is it not clear to all of us--and was it not clear early last year--that Obama despises America and works tirelessly for her defeat.

In my view he is intentionally engineering our defeat, in Afghanistan, and everywhere.

Brzezinski's call to shoot down Israeli jets is merely the latest outrageous example of the Obama treason.

He has no National Security Strategy. He is winging it or ignoring Goldwater/Nichols act of 1986

[In my view he is intentionally engineering our defeat, in Afghanistan, and everywhere.]

I keep repeating that his goal is just to destroy us. No one comments but I assume it’s because they agree and no words are needed.

You are good about calling congressmen and voicing your opinions. I know that email just goes into their spam, it is only the sheer volume of it that sometimes jars them.

“Republicans Urge Obama to Heed Gen. McChrystal’s Call for More Troops”
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
By Susan Jones, Senior Editor

(Update from AP: Former President Bill Clinton told NBC’s “Today” show that President Barack Obama is wise to rethink U.S. policy in Afghanistan before deciding whether to send additional U.S. troops there. Clinton said things are “teetering there,” and he believes that Obama should wait at least until there is a resolution of the disputed presidential election.)

(CNSNews.com) – Leading Republican senators are pressing President Barack Obama to heed the advice of his top general in Afghanistan by approving the general’s request for “more forces,” including additional U.S. combat troops.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal, in a 66-page confidential assessment that was leaked to The Washington Post, repeatedly warned that without additional troops – and a genuine counterinsurgency strategy — defeat in Afghanistan is likely.

“Failure to provide adequate resources also risks a longer conflict, greater casualties, higher overall costs, and ultimately, a critical loss of political support. Any of these risks, in turn, are likely to result in mission failure,” McChrystal wrote in the leaked report.

President Barack Obama says he is now considering McChrystal’s assessment.”
