Administration Denies It Is Compiling “Enemies List”
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 20 September 2009 | John Semmens

Posted on 09/20/2009 8:11:45 PM PDT by John Semmens

The Obama Administration rejected concerns that it is collecting information from the Internet for the purpose of compiling an “enemies list.”

“Granted, we are gathering information—names, addresses, and the like—from those who have posted comments critical of the Administration’s policies,” admitted White House spokesman Nicholas Shapiro. “But our purpose is to better target future educational efforts.”

Shapiro contended that “so much of the opposition to the President and his program is based on ignorance and erroneous information that it should be obvious to any sound thinking person that many in our country need a significant amount of reeducation. Rather than just randomly splash this effort around, keeping a list of those most in need will be conducive to ensuring that the right people get the right message.”

Yeah...reeducation. You remember...like in Red Dawn, when the commies had the townspeople corraled in the outdoor movie theatre and were shown commie propaganda 24/7.

That’s leftist code for “brainwashing”, in case you didn’t know.

And hey, they might even throw in a little torture, just for good measure. Some of us might resist better than others, dontcha know.

....many in our country need a significant amount of reeducation...

Haven’t communist countries often instituted “reeducation centers”?

Sorry, this administration has so blurred the line between truth and satire that it is no longer possible to know which is which.

This is the Clinton Administration, redux, then cubed...

Thankfully they cannot find out who we really all. Nick names protect who you are.

With sufficient resources (and the government has them) you can be traced from nickname right to your computer’s network adapter. The Internet isn’t nearly as anonymous as we all like to think. How do you think they get to the kiddie porn peddlers who hide behind anonymous forums and emails?

There are electronic eavesdropping techniques I don’t fully understand, but have had mentioned by a couple intelligence types I know + the government has, for lack of a better word, “hackers” on the payroll + the ability to lean on ISPs informally; if they think they have something prosecutable they can just seek a subpoena for the information (as with the pornographers). IP traffic is logged, and though you may have a new IP assigned every session it is linked to the carrier and the carrier has records of which IPs were assigned to which customer accounts. You do get into forensics eventually, but it’s doable. The difficulty in prosecutions usually isn’t lack of information but rather difficulty in getting it admitted. None of that will matter in the event of a truly tyrannical regime. For example: http://www.slate.com/id/2221397/
