I want to know how the situation covered on Hannity today is not cause enough for armed insurrection by the people of California against the tyranny of Washington DC.
I want to know how governor Schwarzenegger has not called out the national guard and by force of arms turned the water on.
I want to know how any rational human being can look at the starving of an area, the destroyed landscape, the human misery caused by artificially starving an area of a natural resource and defend it.
I want to know if our government would accept such actions committed by a foreign power and not declare it an act of war. We know they would. Yet I want to know why this isn't an act of war against the American farmer and California in particular.
When I look at things in our nation's history like the "Whiskey Rebellion" arms have been taken up for far less provocation against an overreaching government.
I want to know how Nancy Pelosi can decry the language of political speech while allowing the government she serves in to starve and decimate the people of her state while holding the most powerful position in the legislative branch.
Why are we accepting this? Why are we trying to work through the courts? Why are our elected representatives failing? Why have we allowed people to starve, regions to parch, families to collapse, communities to turn to dust?
How are these people not emptying out their gun cabinets and taking up arms against being starved by an oppressive government?
If this won't cause armed insurrection nothing will.
You need to post who said that, in case anyone’s forgotten.
Thanks for posting that link to Norman Borlaug. Great story.
Some dude running for some office,.... Barry Soetoro or something
but no
thier purpose is not to save the fish, it is the destruction of capitalism
yes it is a war. The communists are taking over without firing a shot.
Iowahawk is an awesome site
Few Californians even know about this.
If local news was responsible, this wouldn’t be the case.
It is, for whatever reason, a partisan issue, with the Democrats on the wrong side of course, so for that reason the media won’t touch it here. Neither has Arnold.
Some state represenatives, like Tom McClintock did, though.
Tom is in the US Congress now, and I bet he will make an issue of it there. However, he is only 1 of 435.
Land of the free? Home of the brave?
Once Cass Sunstein is appointed to SCOTUS by 0, perhaps the smelt will have the standing to sue the farmers.
I wish I could say /sarcasm, but I can’t.
I was somewhat north of Sacramento this past Winter/Spring and the I-5 area was green lush...it's barren and becoming a dust bowl this past month. Farming is a day/week/month gamble.
Even if one lives in a temperate zone with average rainfall, a few dry weeks can wreck havoc on crops/trees. A few years ago, I lived in an area that had little winter moisture. The Spring rainfall was also below average. By late June, early July the area had a 'water advisory', lawns were parched brown, trees dropped off leaves, dirt was cracked open. All this happened even though the previous year the area was a lush green.
It does not take long for the land to become as one perceives in the present Fresno valley. One also as to know that many of the crops that take years to mature/produce (i.e. almond trees) are near a total loss.
As one interviewee on the Hannity show set forth that...possibly the government wants the farmers bankrupt and out of the land as Pelosi has plans for turning the land from crop farms to solar farms.
The problem is that we have no leader, or any great demand to get rid of the illegal federal government. So there is no point in doing anything violent, because it would just hurt our own cause. We need to do this without violence, but be prepared for it if does come to that.
BTW, if this did lead to arms I would indeed head west to lend support Winchester and Berettas in hand.
“How Is This Not Cause for Armed Rebellion? Man Made Drought”
The environazi’s have always falsely comandeered the higher moral ground. They’ve always managed to bamboozle the masses that they are the good guys. This could be the first crack in their rotten pedestal. The first taste by the masses of what these lunatics have in store for them.
We need to take every one of these opportunities to expose their human hating, elitist, narcissistic, and simply insane “religion”.
We are now beginning to pay the terrible price of having a politically complicit media. Fox is the only network that's even reported on this travesty. We hear a little about it here in CA but I'm shocked it's such news to you out of staters.
Believe me, this is only the beginning. The Endangered Species Act is designed to eliminate land use by human beings at the whim of liberal human-haters. The goal is to return America to roughly the environment and population that existed before Lewis & Clark. It sounds crazy but that's what they're determined to do.
There is no "local" or any other from of "news". What we see on TV is propaganda for the DNC.
This is the number ONE reason why our country is in trouble IMO. The Founding Father's prescribed a "Free Press" to act as a further "check and balance" to the government. We just don't have one unfortunately.
There are a couple of bright spots i.e. one cable channel, and a couple of internet sites. But much more needs to be done. There are just way too many uninformed citizens.
That's exactly correct.
These farmers in this valley ought to arm themselves, go to the shut-off valves and turn them on...then stand guard over the valves.
ignore the order , it’s just some dude in a black robe
what right does he have to deny thousands of farms the water they need to grow the food to feed the people ?
