Well, life could always be worse. We could all be living in the UK. From MailOnline

With its emphasis on re-using old materials or selling them as scrap, Mark Howard's bicycle shop is a model of environmental efficiency.

So you might have imagined that his local council would be grateful to him for enhancing the area's green credentials.

But instead the father of four has been hit with a £180 fine - because officers refuse to believe he doesn't create any commercial waste.Libertas

“With its emphasis on re-using old materials or selling them as scrap, Mark Howard’s bicycle shop...”

Reminds me of an old Gahan Wilson cartoon showing old man running a bicycle shop. On the wall was a sign:
Little Girl’s Bicycle Seats
New - $3
Used - $5

I know, I know, but it was published and that’s the way I remember it.

This is the kind of conservative I am. I don't care if burning wood to heat my home is "sustainable" or "carbon neutral"... is it cheaper in an overall sense than what No. 2 oil costs?
