Conservatives cant deny the courage, conviction and effectiveness of Glenn Becks crusade against the Progressive movement and corruption in our nations capital. Glenns efforts have emboldened many to stand tall and fearless for traditional America. Beck single handedly got a wacko communist to resign his position as Green Job Czar a position that existed solely to perpetuate the greatest scam in world History. The recent acorn unraveling is due, in no small part, to the inspiration and cover Glenn has provided the heroic; Andrew Breitbart, James OKeefe and Hannah Giles (hubba hubba).
However, as events unfold at a rapid pace, the God Father of Conservatism has weighed in with a note of caution. On his 9/14/09 program, Rush Limbaugh addresses, what he deems, a troubling theme emerging from the Tea Party movement.
Then don't!!!
Ah, another snotty remark from Texas - per usual.
Why shouldn't he. He had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Beck showed very little of the Tea Party folks even though it was a live ongoing event during his show.
Not from what I saw. I saw interviews with Tea Party organizers, people from Texas at a local Tea Party, interviews with people at DC. You must have missed it.
“We wouldn’t have lost Congress or the Presidency if Republicans would have held to conservative values”
Agreed. And Bush was wonderful after 9/11 and I have no quarrel even with the war in Iraq or anything else. But the whole “compassionate conservative” thing was just a sop to the left. And a big excuse to spend, spend, spend.
And any courtesy he gave to the left and to the despicable Ted Kennedy was spat back in his face.
So, let’s beware of hyphenated conservatives.
And let’s NOT nominate Mitt Romney (a fine fellow I’m sure) because our party needs to wake up and realize “next in line” is not enough anymore.
That is not his style but I can tell he is champing at the bit.
We do not know Beck as well as we do RUSH. I trust Rush totally. Beck is the new kid on the block but his effectivness is unquestionable at this point.
That is why we pray for Glenn every day. He needs divine protection.
I would vote for a Kangaroo before a Democrat.
No, you didn’t grab a exact quote. Fine. I’ll revise. You incorrectly summarized his statements today. Is that better? Or would you prefer misinterpreted his remarks?
I don’t recall him ever saying Republicans were exempt from being held accountable and you proceed to state he made assumptions about Beck when he hasn’t referenced Beck at all. That’s in your mind unless you can find evidence otherwise.
And don’t give me this bit about how Republicans have power. People can’t throw it back in the Democrat’s faces that they have a majority so they shouldn’t whining about Republican obstruction when it’s convenient and then turn around and say they do have power. It’s one or the other. And FACT Republicans don’t have power. Snowe is a useful tool and nothing more. She can’t stop this on her own. Only Democrat’s can do so. The only reason she is in discussion at all is because the Democrat’s want her to provide cover for when the blame game starts. But they can pass it without her if they wished.
As for Republicans not being at the rally, why in the hell do you want them there? I sure didn’t. Not unless they went an 11th hour conversion, repented of all political sin and suddenly became a true believer. They ARE Guilty. That we agree on. And for those sins the best thing they could do is shut up and stay away and not fumble the gift they are being given right now. Honestly, I consider Republicans irrelevant right now. This is between us and those in power. The best thing they could do is nothing. If they get involved they’ll just screw it up as they always do.
So what if the Republicans give us another McCain in 2012?
I'm sorry but you absolutely don't know what you are talking about. The RNC doesn't pick the presidential primary candidates.
Exactly! If we can’t take over a party how the hell then can we take over a country? Third party is for losers. We need to take over the Republican Party and steam roll the statist.
You make some very good points. I still think that Rush was talking about Beck even though he didn’t mention his name.
Not from what I saw. I saw interviews with Tea Party organizers, people from Texas at a local Tea Party, interviews with people at DC. You must have missed it.
Perhaps I missed it. I was watching the CSPAN coverage and the seven or eight times that I switched over to Beck, I saw only Beck talking.
If I was Beck doing a live show that day, I would have said very little and I would have showed mostly the Tea Party.
Beck, Rush and Hannity did there utmost to stay aware from being the center, or polarizing elements to the Saturday event...for a MAJOR reason. Rush talked about it a great deal today. They do not want to be the announced leaders of the people...they very well could be, however.
Before the primaries is NOW. Let us get busy now.
Time to get a determined plan in the works. My gut feeling is to start with a local plan.
Can we get a roll call of the 435 districts in the USA here on FR?
Can we get find out how many districts are represented here?
From there can we start organizing info and people to get each district represented here on FR educated as to who is running for each seat, what these people running for a seat believe and how these people will impact the political scheme both locally and nationally?
How about brainstorming about how to best interact and educate people on the local level? People are more alert to the political consequences of our votes than at any other time that I can remember. Let us not lose this opportunity. We may never get this chance again. We could call ourselves ....hmmm community organizers! How about that novel idea? Quite opposite of Acorn and friends we will behave ourselves honestly and with integrity.
I think Beck is actually trying to woo some thoughtful democrats to our side. I think Rush is correct . I’d throw all these bums out in 2010 but you cannot compare the worse Republican to the best of the Dems.
I believe MOST of those in office right now need to go . For what it’s worth Beck has been saying what our GOP “representatives “ should be doing all along. Come to think of it except for DeMint I haven’t heard a damn thing from the GOP on almost any issue lately. They still on vacation or something ?
Every election cycle we hear this same BS. Every election cycle the ‘pubes put nutless, buttless, toothless “electables” on the ballot. Nope, not falling for this ever again. GOP can KMA. If conservatives can’t win this time, I’ll try again next time. All you “you’ll elect 0bama again,” can also KMA. Your boy McStain IS the fallacy of your argument.
