Crowd Size From The 9/12 March On Washington DC

That is the Promise Keepers photo from 1997. Please stop posting it.
Umm, if you had read my post you would have seen that I posted it for the sole purpose of debunking it.
The category is called Blogs and PERSONAL.
Please show me the rule on FreeRepublic where is says your assertion.
I await....
Then name the news sources that have both of those pictures together for comaparison. I haven’t seen them.
Oh please...I’ve already seen that picture 1.5 million times on tv today.
Oops, sorry. That's what sometimes happens when you take a couple of minutes to compose a post - someone slips in and makes the point you were going to make.
I'm surprised that guy went to so much trouble to come up with a count and while relying on an inapplicable photo.
Dude's speaking my language, for sure ...
That sunny day photo was from “Stand in the Gap” the Promise Keepers rally in 1997. It was, at that time, the biggest gathering the Park Police had ever witnessed. And it was just men, no women. Dwarfed the so-called million man march by a factor of 4 or 5. Reasonable folks estimated the Promise Keepers gathering at about 1 million.
There was a helicopter flying around. Not sure what time, but somewhere between 12 and 2. We were standing near the pool at the time and later moved closer to the Capitol.
Thank you. Will I get myself in trouble (again) if I make the observation that the crowd in that picture was much bigger than the crowd on Saturday?
Don’t go acting like a republican and apologize when an apology is not needed.
This forum is called Blogs and PERSONAL. There’s no reason why a Freeper can’t post his or her own Blog. First, there’s really not that many Freepers who have their own blogs. It’s not like the servers are going to collapse under the weight.
Second, it’s simple enough to get ANOTHER Freeper to post your Blog if you want to get all sniffhead about it. You’d think Freepers would WANT to promote the Blogs of its members but all organizations have jealous, small and petty members and while most Freepers aren’t like that at all, there are some and do they do want to eat their own.
Third, I see all kind of nonsense posted in the forum News and Activism all the time, including little personal rants and vignettes, personal blogs...I can name names. Now I got a damn life and I don’t get on those threads so obviously in the wrong place (they could put it on the forum for that purpose called Bloggers and PERSONAL but I repeat myself) and point out the rudeness of putting little personal things on a busy forum like News and Activism but small, tiny jealous people feel all so noble interupting their terribly important lives to put up a comment on THIS forum that is stipulated as PERSONAL. We are to be impressed by their jealous selves.
Yes I put up my own Blogs on this forum and little, tiny small people feel it’s their job to get on the thread and make their comments to show the world how rude they can be to one of their own as the liberals laugh at the silly conservatives so wrapped up in their jealousy that they don’t support one another, indeed attack each other.
What I do now is put, right in the headline that it shows on the main page, that my post is a VANITY directed to my own Blog so that tiny little jealous people know even before they click into the thread that I am a silly Freeper fool wanting to share my own Blog post not that they couldn’t just pass it by instead of getting in a snit fit and looking like...well a little tiny jealous person.
I come to this forum one day and find no less than three posts with links to other Bloggers that I know, NOT members of FreeRepublic but nice folks that I admire. I have no problem with their Blogs being linked here but let ME link to my Blog and even though I regularly contribute to Freerepublic fine and eloquent commentary unlike those other Bloggers as linked, so says I I’ll admit, somehow I am a bad guy.
So don’t go apologizing for putting up your Blog post in a forum called BLOGGERS and PERSONAL. Cause that’s exactly what you are.
Did it take any pictures?
Okay. I wan’t aware that I was apologizing.
I'm sorry, I think posting it for any reason just adds to the confusion. Perhaps if it were posted with PROMISE KEEPERS stamped overtop the picture, it would be helpful.
At the time I posted it, I didn't know what it was from and asked if anyone knew.
I’ve seen posts on a couple of threads that said the permanent cam for that area was unavailable to the public that day. Why would they do that?
I hadn't seen it like that before. Very informative. Thanks for the post!
Why would it be unavailable to the public? Those cameras are only good for one thing: taking pictures of streets so that people can see how the traffic is.
I don’t know. It was too high up in the sky to see anything besides the helicopter.
