Crowd Size From The 9/12 March On Washington DC

That could have been a training flight from Anacostia (Bolling Air Force Base). That is south-east of the U.S. Capitol and where HMX-1 is based.
I call B.S.! There was a rather large helicopter hovering right over my head in the center of the mall! (maybe 600ft above the ground!)
See my photo’s at facebook...I was there!

That link is using the Promise Keepers photo as a 9/12 photo.
Yeah, great JR picture!!!
Nope, wasn’t military, I am retired military.
Maybe because there are plenty of NEWS sources already available for us to view.... You're just pimping YOUR blog...
Bye...
Was at 9/12 in DC. Twice I saw a helicopter over the crowd area, but not sure if it was the same one both times. No idea if it was taking pics. Cloud cover throughout the day would have prevented any satellite images, so we may be left without a genuine overhead shot. I suspect there were some folks high on some buildings that got shots though, if they ever publish them.
The London Telegraph reported that the Parks Service spokes whatever said it was the largest gathering EVER and put the crowd around 1.2 million
I do believe it was the same aircraft, saw it twice also.
The author of that article posts the below picture to display the 09/12 crowd and performs much of his analysis of the crowd size from that picture; however, this picture is not a picture from 09/12: (i) None of the tents for the black family event in the public area is shown; (ii) the stage in the picture is shown on the Washington Monument side of the pool rather than the Capitol side of the pool where the stage was located on Saturday; and (iii) there are no people shown on the Capitol side of the pool, while that is where the highest density of people was on Saturday.
That discredits the entire analysis.
It would be nice to know what event that photo was from, however, and find out if there was a crowd estimate.
Yup saw that. See my post #29.
Lol, indeed! It was awesome. So many absolutely dead on funny, original, cut right to it signs. Was SO proud to be counted among them.
......or not, since clearly, the media’s ability to count, rivals Congress’s reading skills ; P

Problem is, the guy you linked to is using an aerial photo of the mall from a Promis Keepers rally years ago and merging those numbers into his estimate.
there was a helicopter that flew around every hour or so. At one point the entire crowd turned and waved to it.
Promise Keepers rally from years ago.
I’m not sure now where I saw FreedomWorks estimation of 450k (I didn’t see it at their site earlier today), but I think 450k is a credible estimation. 60k is not credible. 2 million is not credible either.
Except I was there and saw at least one helicopter flying
directly over the crowd.
Our group arrived around 9 am. At that time there was a helo flying over Freedom Plaza. Later the same helo circled the capitol grounds on at least two occasions, at least an hour apart. no markings.
