Letter: Citizens are losing control of the nation
The Winter Haven News Chief ^ | September 10, 2009 | Dan C. Frodge

The attorney general, by definition, is "the chief law officer of a nation or state who represents the government in litigation."

As the nation watched on Election Day 2008, most were appalled by the spectacle of Black Panther party thugs intimidating white voters at a Philadelphia precinct. Most Americans believed these thugs would be swiftly and justly prosecuted. Months passed, and it was finally released that Eric Holder, the attorney general of the United States, would not pursue criminal charges against these men.

Why? Had this event been three men in white hooded robes intimidating black voters, the drive-by media would have been incensed. Black leaders and people would have been marching and protesting. Why the double standard? To add insult to injury, one of the thugs was Jerry Jackson, a Democratic party official in Pennsylvania!

With all of President Obama's rhetoric about transparency and reducing partisanship, this type of inequality and racism clearly contradicts his high-sounding speech and exposes him as a charlatan. As for Holder, he has violated the very essence of the definition "chief law officer" by encouraging preferential treatment.

Ironically, Holder, instead of prosecuting Black Panthers, now intends to "investigate" and prosecute CIA personnel who were attempting to defend the United States.

America, with $5 billion recently allocated to AmeriCorps, get ready for trench warfare as Obama attempts to solidify his power with radical takeovers of key governmental entities. The alliances between SEIU (Service Employees International Union), ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) and AmeriCorps are not coincidental. Coupled with "czars" directing practically every facet of American industry, it is proving more difficult to extricate ourselves from this conundrum. These czars do not report to Congress but directly to the White House. Although possessing broad powers, they are not cleared by the FBI or approved by the Senate. Why?

The real tragedy is that our congressmen and senators, who took an oath to "defend the Constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic," have failed us. Where are these defenders of the Constitution? President Reagan, quoting Rabbi Hillel, asked, "If not us, whom; If not now, when?" Freedom-loving Americans should ask the same.

By what mechanism? Voting? Brute force? Going through the alphabet agencies would be..problematic. Better to wait for them to do it (yes, I still have faith)

Well... The English is correct, and provocative. I’ll give you an 8.5. It needed a clever follow up.

Where is the brave politician who will stand up and speak the truth about what is happening to our country today and not worry about appearing undistinguished? And I don’t mean speak the truth to Republican gatherings. I mean speak to the people who are stealing our freedoms, our property, our future ability to live longer and our very souls? Unfortunately, even Joe Wilson apologized for telling the truth.
Where are the lawsuits from people who had money invested in US companies and either lost it all or most of it because the president GAVE it to someone else? Where is the politician who should be protecting the people from a government who is stealing from its citizens? Doesn’t the constitution say we can’t have our property stolen from us? WHY should any union now OWN a large percentage of any company??? How can any president (including Bush) give OUR money away & tell banks or companies they don’t have to pay us back, but rather that we and our children are in debt for decades or more??? I was raised that is theft. I know the democrats will lose elections for a few decades, but how much will they destroy and steal in just a few years? CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT???

Sarah, can you help us now???
