Obama, in Campaign Mode, Vows Action on Health. No,you can't tell us to shut up.

CINCINNATI -- President Barack Obama shifted into campaign mode Monday, declaring that the time for debate on health care is over and vowing to move fast to enact a sweeping overhaul of the system this year. Speaking at a boisterous Labor Day rally of AFL-CIO members, Mr. Obama led the first "fired up, ready to go" chant of his presidency, reaching back to a hallmark of his presidential campaign. He recounted a low moment from his quest for the White House to try to seize control of a health-care debate that strayed from his grasp this summer. "Every debate at some point comes to an end," he told a loudly supportive crowd. "At some point it's time to decide. At some point it's time to act. Ohio, it's time to act and get this thing done."

Barry owes taxpayer financed “healthcare” to his union thug buddies. If the taxpayers aren’t forced into picking up the tab for union promises, the unions are going to go broke. I can see why they are “wee wee’d up” and ready to go on this.

He thinks his shuck and jive act still works. Someone should tell him, after you have heard it a few times, you just walk away.

No kidding. To be honest, it surprises me how badly he's losing. I thought this was going to go through practically unchallenged. Thank God I was so wrong.

Why does “labor” want socialized medicine anyway? does anyone wonder why somebody with a job would care. Could it be the billions in pension bailouts for donkey labor?

What is in this for unions? Unions have great health care coverage and none of the members want to be part of the public option....it doesn't make sense.

Time for action, sure we conservatives hardly debate that.

THAT isn’t nearly the point as to why this national fissure exists.

On the other hand, its NEVER (Ever, EVER) Time to do something STUPID in the face of action that is needed. If your hand were on fire would you douse in with gasoline - NO.

Action that plunges this Republic into a Kafka-esque run State will always (and should be) rejected and fought.

If Action was what he REALLY wanted then there would be 2 things in place NOW - Insurance Plans that cross State lines and compete in any State AND (actually FIRST) Tort Reform.

When all is said and done, the Democrats have the votes to pass anything they want. As has been said before, they’re political suicide bombers who care about nothing but furthering their ideology. They’ll even sacrifice their own political careers for this abomination. Clearly, they’ve taken a page from Goldwater and believe that “extremism in defense of socialism is no vice”.

What do you mean what is in it for the unions?

The millions of government jobs that will be created with government run health care means the union ranks will sky rocket, bringing in money and political power with it.

Also, they get hold the of the most critical portion of EVERY single American’s life to take more and more away from the private sector into the union coffers over time.

And, the union pensions get a huge bailout.

IIRC....Union members will be exempt from Obamacare, PLUS the House Bill includes $10 billion to go directly to shore up union pension funds.

Actually, it makes perfect sense.

The unions have health care having agreed to the transfer of the health care assets and liabilities from the Big 3 to the UAW. So now the UAW is in charge of all that money for health care for union members. You think the government is going to let them go insolvent? Hell no. The UAW just got their hands on the largest slush fund in the world. With that money they will spend it like there's no tomorrow and you and I will be there via the Democrat Party in government to replenish their "health care" funds. With government health care, the money will come pouring in to the UAW and the liabilities will be cast off to the taxpayers.

It is actually the biggest payoff in history.

I urge you not to assume that the battle has been won.

This is a monumental issue—please remain vigilant and ready to act.

They have not and will not give up on this. It is far too important to them.

They know, and I know, that if they achieve this health care ‘reform’ they will have the means to achieve every other part of their hard-left plan.

Do not relax. Do not turn your back on these people. They will cut you down.

This is not about people’s health. This is about shifting the paradigm away from individual freedom. This about the psychological effects of gov’t as caretaker. This is about domination. It’s about the end of the United State of America, as you know her.

Well I guess we know now what his approach will be this week with Congress ... time to vote! He knows the longer they wait, talk and debate the worse it gets.

So its war immediately after Congress returns from break. Bam and Nancy are going to twist and break so many arms to get something thru the House. The Senate will pass a bill that appeases enough RINOs to get the 60 votes. The bill brought back from conference will look nothing like one that left the Senate and they will jam it thru with 51 votes.

This might get ugly....

Spot on. The only way this can be stopped once Congress is back in session is with a few Democrats rejecting it in both the House and Senate; Republicans and conservatives cannot stop it otherwise (at least until 2010 when the Democrats who vote for it pay dearly on election day).
