You are not Michelle Obama, and you will probably not end up with Barack ... or Denzel. If you want to find the right one, lose the high ideal and get your priorities in order.
I sympathize with black women because its true that 71 percent of black grad students are female and that they outnumber black men in the general population 7 to 1. But maybe youve heard the one about successful black women being unable to find suitable black mates is not about ineligible men. And if you are doing this by the numbers, ladies, then your outlook is bleak. But its not about the numberssuccessful black men made the same lame claim back in the day. Its about choices and how we measure success. Black women seem to resent black men because, with all the educated black women, we seem to have choices in mates that they dont. I promise you, quantity and quality are different. Please trust that it takes more than an education and a successful career to be wife material. And women think if they wait long enough, they will find their own Denzel Washington. The problem is, there isnt enough Denzel to go around...

Why must they restrict themselves to black men?
Sounds like that article could apply to women in general-black, white, brown, green, red, blue, yellow, purple, etc.
Peotess = Maya Angelou
Don’t know why anyone thinks Maya Angelou is a decent poetess.
White men can't jump?
AND.......the same perspective should and could be applied to men (of any color) moaning about not being able to find a decent wife who looks like a movie star. *chuckle*
They don't. They're being encouraged to limit themselves to black men, but a lot of them definitely don't.
lol
Saw an elderly black lady yesterday in a tropical print mumu, with flowers and parrots, but also had Obamas face on it!
This site also has an article about Van Jones’ resig. Comments there are quite interesting as well.
I have a picture of a lava lamp with Obama’s name on it, all done up in red, white and blue. It was for sale at a local close out store. Have the pic on my cell phone but for some reason it won’t send to my computer. I get a giggle every time I look at it, it’s sooo cheezy.
How many white men do you see with black women? On the other hand, how many white women do you see with black men?
Just one, when looking in a mirror.

You are right about the comments. I read about 3 pages worth. There is a lot more wisdom and intellegent concersation about relationships, race, and what we teach our children than I have seen in a commentary space in a long time.
Ebonics?
I worked with a white guy who dates mainly black women.
Why restrict yourself? Variety is the spice of life (until you get married).
My advice to all black negroid dark-skinned women: Get yourself a $350,000 dollar no-show hospital board job in Chicago and then tone up your arms, wear $750 sneakers, get yourself a $6,000 ‘clutch’ bag for photo ops, and express your hate for America!
Let’s get one thing straight. It’s one thing to ‘date’ black women. It’s very easy. All u have to do is ask any of them if they are an ‘equal opportunity’ date. U would be surprised by the positive responses you would get. If you wish to bed one of these babes you would also be surprised to see how ‘open’ these babes are to getting away from this lack of suitable black males. Just give these women the chance to do what too many black men act on-dating(and marrying) outside their race. That’s where white men draw the line. It’s standing up to public responses that go unsaid(and said). Black men don’t have a problem with it. It’s like they’re showing off a trophy. The other(real) issue when it comes to marrying a black woman? Just look at all the older ones and see how big their butts get as they get older. Sorry, but that’s why I call myself DirtySecret.
