The Democratic Majority Leader of the US Senate Harry Reid told a Nevada businessman this week at a luncheon, "I hope you go out of business." The Review-Journal reported, via FOX Nation:
On Wednesday, before he addressed a Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Reid joined the chamber's board members for a meet-'n'-greet and a photo. One of the last in line was the Review-Journal's director of advertising, Bob Brown, a hard-working Nevadan who toils every day on behalf of advertisers. He has nothing to do with news coverage or the opinion pages of the Review-Journal.
Yet, as Bob shook hands with our senior U.S. senator in what should have been nothing but a gracious business setting, Reid said: "I hope you go out of business."
Later, in his public speech, Reid said he wanted to let everyone know that he wants the Review-Journal to continue selling advertising because the Las Vegas Sun is delivered inside the Review-Journal.
Such behavior cannot go unchallenged.
You could call Reid's remark ugly and be right. It certainly was boorish. Asinine? That goes without saying.

If the newspaper is smart - they will do daily exposes of Hairy Reid sleazy, corrupt and slimy deals. Hairy is hated by many in NV.
How many SEIU members lost their jobs since his overlord
said don’t go to Las Vegas?

The question is why did he say that? The article doesn’t tell “the rest of the story”...
Bravo!
You can guess from this:
“If he thinks he can push the state’s largest newspaper around by exacting some kind of economic punishment in retaliation for not seeing eye to eye with him on matters of politics, I can only imagine how he pressures businesses and individuals who don’t have the wherewithal of the Review-Journal.”
Bob should of replied..
We hope you go out of business too. :)
To Harry Reid, come 2010 hopefully you’ll be out of business.
Kind of reminds me of Senator Geary from “The Godfather” when he tells Michael he intends to wipe him out.
It would be best for Harry to stay away from any brothels in the near future.
Dingy Harry forgot Rule #1 of Politics:
Never pick a fight with man who buys ink by the barrelful...
Oh - this is going to be fun fun fun to watch. The 2010 election season has begun. thanks for the posts.
Dear Harry.
I hope you lose your job.
Good stuff.
Is that the home paper of Vin Suprynowicz?

just another power-mad crooked Demonkat Beltway congressturd
This is just another example of how the left in power view free speech rights. We need to unite against the “diversity czar” of the FCC as he is planning to dismantle private news agencies and implement Obama’s agenda of state and local state run news. Our president and his clan cannot and will not take criticism. Contrast this to JFK and you will see the current Democratic party is not the party of John F. Kennedy. There is a youtube film called “the speech that got Kennedy killed” that makes it clear where JFK stood on free speech, public disent and government secrecy. I do not necessarily buy the conspiracy theory; however, I do believe that the ruling elite were angered by his speech. They have been fine with Barrack’s speeches.

The feeling is mutual, Harry.
