Frommer's Travel guide guru Arthur Frommer said yesterday in his blog that he is considering recommending an Arizona travel boycott because of recent open firearms carry in a non secure area at an Obama speech location .
And what was the police and Secret Service action was taken to citizens openly carrying guns there? Precisely what it should have been. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. No reaction whatsoever.
Although his travel guide is not urging a boycott, not just yet anyway, Frommer said that he will not travel in any state where people can legally carry loaded weapons in the open as a means of political protest. He believes that this open carry is a "threat to the future of our democracy." He is also afraid of his own personal safety there.
He calls people who carry guns openly at political events "extremists," and asks his readers if a boycott should be put into effect.
He won't travel where there is open carry, but what about his traveling in the states that allow concealed carry?
It may come as a shock and surprise to him that the people carrying guns openly were most likely vastly outnumbered by Arizonans carrying legally concealed handguns at the same place.
But, what about the people who carry discretely and legally in most other states where concealed handgun permits are granted.
Perhaps when he finds out when he travels across the rest of the USA that he considers "safe" that he will be surrounded by hundreds of gun carrying people and not even know it. Not knowing that the person next to him is legally armed will certainly make him more comfortable.
Somewhere along the way he may find out that, God forbid, he will be standing next to a little old lady legally carrying a Ladysmith...

Frommers sucks anyway. They’re trying to monetize something that’s available for free, and not doing a very good job of it either.
TripAdvisor is much better, and free. And there are others.
Frommers future is to fade away, with or without a boycott. Buh bye, lefty.

It would be nice to know just where this guy lives. Does he live in an open carry or concealed carry state?
He should be surrounded by gun carrying citizens wherever he goes. They should do this to him for the rest of his life.
PS, the state controlled media has made conservative and birther the new “N” word. First they slander us with all kinds of demonizing, then whenever they call us a birther or some other word, it is like being called an “N”.

Anyone who’s been camping in the Southwest over the last 20 years knows that it’s good policy to have a firearm of some kind, especially in some of the more remote BLM and National Forest areas.
Arthur, watch out for anyone wearing their shirt untucked or wearing a jacket. And don't forget women carrying purses, just something to keep you thinking.

Well, in my experience they’re harmless, although they do dress funny. And they spend money (but, as little as they possibly can).
Nevertheless, you *don’t* want them in your town, if you can help it.

I do my own travel research anyway. I can find the most out of the way non tourist type places on my own.
Many states are open carry. Even before Ohio allowed concealed carry, open carry was legal although frowned upon in many cities.
