Before I get to the song, let me post my responses first. Pick the one that fits best:
A. Yes, I know I'm a sinner too.
B. Yes, I want homosexuals to repent and be saved.
C. Yes, I'm well aware of the problems in the Missouri Synod.
D. Yes, I know there's a faithful remnant still in the ELCA.
E. No, I don't buy the "We're grieving now, don't criticize us" line.
F. No, satirical polemics is perfectly biblical and Lutheran--indeed, it is called for in cases like this.
Now, to the song. . . .
OH, BLEST THE HOMOSEXUAL
Tune: Wo Gott zum Haus ("Oh, Blest the House, Whate'er Befall" TLH 625/LSB 862)
Oh, blest the homosexual
Though we have nothing textual
To bless behavior God has cursed
We took a vote--it's been reversed
Oh, blest the gal who takes a wife
As long as they stay gay for life
"Committed," then you can be queer--
Until we change that too next year
Oh, check the box for blessing in:
Transgendered, bi, or lesbian
We're working on the PETA-phile
So man and dog can walk the aisle
Oh, blast those other Lutherans
Who tell us that we're loose on sins
There still is one we won't abide
It's when you make God's Word our guide
Then hear the E.L.C.A. say
That it's OK to ordain the gay
Though all the world forsake God's Word
They can't outdo us for absurd!
Ping.
Here, debate the Pastor, homosexual apologist.
That's the best verse of all, Pastor. BWAHAAAHAAAA!

...this is most certainly true!
Unless of course the apostate heretics decide that it's an endorsement.
That seems to be that pattern with the left. Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal" is probably the greatest satirical work in history, the culture of death now treats it as a "how to" manual.
LMAO!!!!
p.s. Good thing you had a tune link because I never heard it before.
I sent it to you a couple hours agao, both on FReepmail and on your FR thread.
Good thing you had a tune link because I never heard it before.
But PJ, "Wo Gott zum Haus" is one of the most familiar Lutheran hymn tunes! I can't believe you don't know it! :-)
Ping!
I don’t know which impresses me more. The “Make Believe” parody you wrote or the Howard Keel video you found since I couldn’t find it at all earlier.
Awesome as usual. You can’t spell Wittenberg without wit!
You can’t spell Silverback without verb!
Actually, I'm familiar with a lot of gospel music but maybe not so much hymns. In fact, a couple of weeks ago, I spent several hours watching Elvis Presley on YouTube singing gospel tunes. He was pretty good at it. Don't know if he was Lutheran though.
BTW, Johnny Ray sang a great gospel song in his inimitable way in "There's No Business Like Show Business." Wonder if it is on YouTube?
Well, I am a man of action.
