Anthony Bourdain recently dined in Milwaukee on something you would love: the Three Little Pigs sandwich with a breaded and fried pork tenderloin, smoked ham and bacon, covered in melted Gruyère cheese and topped with 2 fried eggs, sunny side up, on a brioche bun. Hospital crash cart optional, but recommended. Yum.

Saw a show where they make a BLT with 20 strips of bacon on it.

I’d like to thank the person who determined bacon should be sold in single-serving one-pound packages. ;)

It sounds like something the entire family would love, especially if most of them are CARDIOLOGISTS or BYPASS SURGEONS.

We’re gonna try it with low fat/no fat substitutes and TURKEY bacon.

I’ll let you know how it turns out — if all the rest of you aren’t strapped to a stainless steel table in a cardiac catheterization facility.

I understand that you 20 and 30 somethings still feel “bulletproof” (as did I once upon a time) but, trust me, that’s NOT a lot of fun! It does, however, beat NOT surviving that first BIG ONE.

I’m a big fan of potato soup, if made well. I’ll be giving this recipe a go later today. This one is stretched a bit though. Simple is the way to go. My great grandmothers’ recipe is my all time favorite...it has egg drop noodles added...absolutely delicious...

I make something similar with a mix of whole milk and chicken broth and smoked turkey wings with the skins removed after boiling them in the broth to get the smoked flavor into the soup - and then defatted. A LOT less fat and cholesterol, but still mighty tasty.

And also use olive oil instead of butter to sautee the veggies.

Yeah some bacon would sort of kick it in the butt flavorwise more so than the crumbles in the topping would, but I’d also cover the potatoes in enough Chicken Stock to just cover the diced potatoes, drop the milk, and increase the cream, and I wouldn’t blend but half the potatoes. I like the chunky potato texture.
