Robert Gibbs Claims White House is Not "Collecting Names of People" Who Oppose Obama - Video 8/6/09

Here is video of White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs today at a press briefing saying that nobody at the White House is collecting names of people who oppose Obama policies. Gibbs said this in response to the furor created by a White House posting yesterday on their website asking people to send in information about people who oppose Obama's Government Health Care. Gibbs was very defensive as he was pressed on the matter by Jake Tapper of ABC, and Major Garrett from Fox News.

At the 6:22 mark of the video Gibbs accuses a reporter of "hatching some nefarious plot" after he asked Gibbs if they were going to inform people whose names are emailed to the Government that it has happened. Gibbs pretended to not understand the question at first, and then told the reporter he was sure he was trying to "hatch some nefarious plot." . . . . . (Watch Video)

I do, however, think they want to plant that seed in people's mind in order to silence opposition to the health care plan.

Gibbs should look into the fishy site that claims the White House is doing exactly that:
