In January, Bruno was charged with filing a false federal corporate income tax return for allegedly under-reporting his firm's taxable income, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's office. Kirk not only voted for the earmarked laden bill, he bragged about his efforts in securing the funds. This is the same bill that contained the controversial "Hastert Highway" boondoggle.
