Mark Kirk shouldn't expect Republican support

July 19, 2009

It's 2006 all over again. The Illinois GOP's old guard is trying to jam another pro-abortion, pro-homosexual extremist down the throats of Republicans. We all saw how well this worked with Kirk's chum Judy Baar Topinka.

Isn't it time Mark Kirk came out of the closet?

Mark Kirk is the new Judy Baar Topinka

April 18, 2009

Mark Kirk and Judy Baar Topinka pretty much share the same ideology. But for accidental circumstances in their past, Kirk and Topinka would have been Democrats.

Kirk not only voted for the earmarked laden bill, he bragged about his efforts in securing the funds. This is the same bill that contained the controversial "Hastert Highway" boondoggle.

As many freepers have recently learned, Kirk was one of only eight "cap-n-trade" Republicans in the House. But how much do freepers know about the REST of Kirk's career?

Since Mark Kirk announced his Senate bid, conservative websites has been inundated with Kirk fans defending their guy as "winnable" in a so-called "blue state" like Illinois, that he's "with Republicans 80 percent of the time," and that he's the "only" hope of winning back Roland Burris' U.S. Senate seat in 2010. We are told he's a "fiscal conservative" and a "moderate" on social issues. Conservatives are mocked, ridiculed, shamed by Kirk supporters for being "purists", unrealistic, foolishly principled and seemingly pathetic for needing to be "assuaged."

Aside from freepers whining about "McCain and Grahamesty", the rest of Republican establishment has uniformly gotten behind Kirk in the primary. In an email to supporters today, Kirk included McConnell, Jon Kyl, Republican Senate Campaign Chair Cornyn, House Republican Leader Boehner, House Republican Whip Cantor, Senators Thune, Brownback, Inhofe, and other so-called "true conservatives" as among those endorsing him in the primary.

So is Kirk acceptable?

The Champion News complied a central database showing just what kind of person the "moderate" Mark Kirk is. Kirk has complied a track record of the last decade as a rabid leftist and a long time thorn in the side of conservatives, and would be Harry Reid's 61st vote in the Senate. He is, by any reasonable measure, an extremist nutjob on issues like abortion and guns and gaia worship; and his much touted "fiscal conservative" and "reform" credentials are about as convincing as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s. In fact, Kirk is so liberal he'd probably be WORSE than Roland Burris. A Kirk victory wouldn't be a victory for "Republicans" - it would be a victory for liberalism. Period. The Republican Party will have capsulated to the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" mentality.

I'm post this as the beginning of a Mark Kirk Truth File on FR. I suggest all Illinois freepers and any freeper from the other 49 states who's thinking of donating or volunteering for Kirk look long and hard at Kirk's record. Do we want another Jim Jeffords/Linc Chafee on "our" side?

Not to put two fine a point on it, but as a fellow Illinois freeper I can attest that Doug Ibendahl and the “Champion News” aren’t exactly reliable. I’m not for Kirk or anything, but these are the guys who are helping ruin the Illinois republican party. That is all.

C'mon GOP hacks, start whining about how we need to support Kirk to "regain" the majority, or how Kirk is still more conservative than the Dem. I wouldn't vote for Kirk for a spot on some village water board! The guy is an effing joke.

I know alot of people hate Doug & Cathy personally, but what does that have to do with anything? Even if I was assume they're wrong most of the time (they're not), their database about Kirk is spot on, is it not? A stopped clock is right twice a day.

I hear you about Kirk, but what the hell are we in IL supposed to do? Thanks to Lisa Madigan, a Republican has half a chance of winning Rollie the Boo’s seat, and it’s sounding more and more like Mark Kirk will get strong support from the party.

We shouldn’t stay home. All Illinois conservatives should campaign for the most conservative candidate, in that race, Dr. Eric Wallace. Please read his site, www.wallaceforillinois.com.
