Flying into Philly with kids. In need of hotel recs.
We aren't able to sightsee this trip, so we only need a restaurant and something interesting to keep the kids entertained. If you can recommend any place, I'd be most appreciative.
Thanks in advance :)
Are you bringing your pit bulls with you?
Outside of Old City, you and your family may enjoy the museums, particularly the Franklin Institute. These are an easy cab ride away.
Delaware...
:-)
Look for one that has armed guards.
Its been awhile but the last time I went there I was walking through one of the galleries when I heard the most distinctive laugh and recognized it from the movies.
I continued down the gallery and who did I come across but Vincent Price.
He was a very unassuming fellow and we chatted for several minutes before going on our seperate ways.
how much you looking to spend? the crown plaza at 18th and market is nice, downtown and in a safe area. tons of restaurants nearby and a vibrant nightlife.
Where to stay with kids in Philly? Virginia
also has a pool on the roof and i believe an airport shuttle service.
Cross the Bridge and stay in Joisey!
Stay at the airport so you can leave KILLADELPHIA in a hurry if you have to .
Depending on your situation, you may want to look into the Windsor Suites. It’s not luxury, so it saves some money while at the same time having apartment like layout with kitchen. Stayed there with my son several times. Close to Ben Franklin Center and Museum. I mention it here because it is one of the lesser known hotels in the city, but delivers the best value IMHO.
By the airport, hotels are very expensive for what you get. I am a frequent overnight guest in Philadelphia and when I’m not staying in South Philly with friends, always hit the Windsor.

I’d check out tripadvisor.com and use the airport shuttle into the city.

Indeed, Camden is a lovely place to be shot at.

LMAO...I thought the same thing!
Ok. Funny, funny. Between the stress of politics, a sick cat and one child who hates to travel, I’m not seeing fun in my near future.
But how far of a drive is it to any of these places? And is it safe to take a cab? That always scares me. Plus, I’d rather an airport shuttle.
Once dh flies in, we’re going into joisey. Grew up there, and dad has rented a beach house.
Camden, New Jersey is gorgeous this time of year...
I’m sure it is, but I have no transportation until dh arrives.
What the hell go all the way and stay in Camden, it will give the kids something to do while you take care of business.
