Palin, Hunter, DeMint, or Pence? Who should be the 2012 nominee?
PA Times | 7/21/09 | Pissant

Posted on 07/21/2009 4:08:00 PM PDT by pissant

I have racked my brain to try to figure out who else should be included on the list of figures that conservatives should support and encourage to run for the 2012 GOP nomination.

Pawlenty? Milquetoast

Mitt? RomneyCare flipflopper

Barbour? Sabotaged eminent domain reform

Jindal? Needs to start shaving first.

Huck? playing his cards right, but can he be trusted?

Newt? Sybil

Perry? Mandatory vaccinations, anyone?

Sanford? Stepped on his John Thomas

However, if Palin, Hunter, DeMint and Pence were to be the choices, then we will have forced the GOP beyond the RINOfest that was 2008, which resulted in the predictable outcome.

Hunter gets my full support if he runs. DeMint is next, then Pence & Palin.

However, it would behoove us to discourage any attempt by the GOP moneymen to force feed us another Rudy McRomney Happy Meal for 2012.

Will talk radio get out in front this time and actively promote the conservative candidates?

I still haven't tuned back in to Hannity after his relentless efforts to convince me that black is white last go 'round.

It means something, alright. That executive experience is no assurance of half a brain.

I'm not going to argue poll numbers which can be manipulated and are often sited on a “pick and choose” basis. I stand by my statement that Sarah Palin, though I both like and admire her, has been defined successfully by the media in a negative way.

I can't tell you during the last election cycle how many supporters of this or that GOP candidate told me (confidently) that their candidate was “gaining in the polls”.

It doesn’t matter if someone has no brain at all. (i.e. look at Al Gore) They can still get elected.

Well, the problem is, US presidential elections are essentially popularity contests. Just look how when they run these speculative polls, people will select candidates that haven’t even been in the picture for years.

Despite a lot of Romney haters here, he probably is the best shot at WINNING vs Ob. It is going to be “the economy, stupid” and it is imperative we have a candidate with strong credibility on the economy. Like it or not, people think Romney is “good on the economy”.

Jindal is quite impressive. A very bright individual who seems to understand the trench warfare of politics. On the other hand Sarahcuda is awesome. These two would really light up a race for the White House (Jindal/Palin).

Considering what he did to the Mass. economy, it ain’t a real selling point.

Hunter wasn’t a joke. The conservative media’s response to him was. Along with idiots that threw their money at Rudy McRomney.

That's not good enough Pissant.

You have to prevent a John McCain, or you will lose again.

I have a hunch a good portion of the electorate is sick of the RINOs this time.

Wow. Ann Coulter just said on Hannity that she would support Romney or Palin. She did say Romney would need to come out and explain what went wrong with health care reform in MA, but acted like for now, he is her guy. She did say it was early. She also said Newt should be “talker in chief”, not necessarily a candidate.

I agree Pissant, but that does nothing to account for Acorn and other dead people.

What are you going to do about THEM?

You can't afford to let it happen again.

Like I said, dissuade the RINOs from running in the first place.

Like I said, how?

We need to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The Survival of your Country depends on it.

IMHO.

Palin and some guy. Not Hunter. Any conservative guy. Doesn’t have to have charisma or pizazz ... she has enough for both.

Palin can be Hunter’s head of the Dept of Energy, and help him dismantle it altogether.
