BCS B.S. No Wonder Republicans Get Hammered During Elections
Tea Time Blog ^ | 7-7-09 | Michael P. Tremoglie

Today, the Senate is holding hearings about the college football Bowl Championship Series (BCS). Sen. Orrin Hatch, R- UT, is replicating a hearing about the BCS that was held earlier this year, in the House, by his fellow Republican, Texas Congressman Rep. Joe Barton.

Hatch and Barton are not concerned with terrorism, war, famine, plague, unemployment, crime, the government usurpation of the automobile industry and the planned usurpation of the health field, as well as North Korea, etc.

No, they want to enact laws forcing a playoff in college football.

I get so annoyed at talk of RINO’s. As if the real thing is anything to brag about. This college football meddling is beyond silly. It is as tyrannical and fascist as any Obamanation. This is none of the government’s business. Although many may see it as harmless it is part of the mindset that everything is for the government to manage. Anything that somebody sees as imperfect is a proper target for the heavy hand of Uncle Sam.

Not too surprising. After all, there isn’t anything serious going on in Washington (or the world, for that matter)...

What would happen if the NCAA told them to take a flying leap?

I wonder if they feel the “need” to get involved because the government is so involved in doling out money to colleges? I wish they’d stop!

...and they wonder why people are taking time out of their busy days to march in a tea party...

They can't allow the modern Roman Colosseum games not to pacify the masses if they don't legislate it you know!

Most important things on the average American minds IF they have any left is the Mikee Jack**fson sage or who will be the next American Idol/idiot.

This is why we need to take our government AND our country back!! If THIS is the most important thing that the Senate (regardless which party is doing this) has to do, then they should adjourn and go home. How is this “the people’s business” as defined by the Constitution??

I wish more people would stand up to these aspiring tyrants. They feel the need to get involved because it is the nature of the job. If you run a company, you are always looking for ways to expand your business. Politicians are always looking for a way to expand their power and influence.

Memo to Orrin Hatch - this isn’t what we mean when we say we want “smaller government.”

Hatch should change his name to “Boobyhatch”.

Like Grassely, Snow, Collins, Graham and McNutjob, he should be retired to the old politicians home.

Its a total disgrace that losers like these CONTINUE to occupy space better filled by more intelligent, principled conservatives of moral courage - all traits the aforesaid totally lack.

We do not have a party any longer guys. Obama is destroying this country as it has been known for over 200 years and the Republicans can’t bother to make sure it is stopped by threatening to withhold GOP funds on a reelection, but can take the time to complain about a college football GAME.

I had hopes that Congress would do one useful thing: ala carte selection for cable tv.

A couple of years ago, they were hinting at creating ala carte for cable tv.

Apparently, the cable companies paid them off, as that seemed to have been shelved.

Maybe next they will investigate steroid use by ping pong players.

We do not have a party any longer guys.

As Glen Beck and many of us keeping saying, the Dems and Pubbies are sides of the same coin.

But the sheeples keep voting their party, thinking somehow that voting for the same will give a different result.

It makes you wonder which is worse:
