Sarah Palin: Happy 4th of July!
Facebook ^ | 7/4/09 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 07/04/2009 2:00:04 PM PDT by rintense

On this Independence Day, I am so very proud of all those who have chosen to serve our great nation and I honor their selflessness and the sacrifices of their families, too.

If I may, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the last 24 hours and share my thoughts with you.

First, I want to thank you for your support and hard work on the values we share. Those values led me to the decision my family and I made. Yesterday, my family and I announced a decision that is in Alaska’s best interest and it always feels good to do what is right. We have accomplished more during this one term than most governors do in two – and I am proud of the great team that helped to build these wonderful successes. Energy independence and national security, fiscal restraint, smaller government, and local control have been my priorities and will remain my priorities.

For months now, I have consulted with friends and family, and with the Lieutenant Governor, about what is best for our wonderful state. I even made a few administrative changes over that course in time in preparation for yesterday. We have accomplished so much and there’s much more to do, but my family and I determined after prayerful consideration that sacrificing my title helps Alaska most. And once I decided not to run for re-election, my decision was that much easier – I’ve never been one to waste time or resources. Those who know me know this is the right decision and obvious decision at that, including Senator John McCain. I thank him for his kind, insightful comments.

The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the “politics of personal destruction”. How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family.

I shared with you yesterday my heartfelt and candid reasons for this change; I’ve never thought I needed a title before one’s name to forge progress in America. I am now looking ahead and how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint. I hope you will join me. Now is the time to rebuild and help our nation achieve greatness!

God bless you! And I look forward to making a difference – with you!

Sarah

Why would Palin run for the Senate? That’s the last thing she should do. Especially if she’s going to run for President in 2012. She’ll be Senator for what, 2 or 3 months?

I am not sure I got what you intend to do...

Palin Dose? Is this a fixed category to post Palin stuff? Or is similar to my “Palin Ping! Threads”?

If you want to do anything elaborate, please tell me. I’ll be glad to help in any way.

I will gladly contact the full Palin Ping! list (over 250) for your thread.

Years ago We ha a thread that did research on the clintons, most of the freepers were woman...Dad called it the “backYard Fence” We met every day, shared joys concerns, recipes, gossip but particularly any dirt we could find about the Clinton’s IIRC ALAmo girl was a regular contributor. Now she has her own .com with all of the “sins of the CLinton’s” documentated. We wore pearls and all owned egg plates.;~)

With the election of “W” Rintense started posting materials and the daily pictures and activities of “W” and family.....It became known as the “daily dose”, or “sanity island”. The duties for posting was divided/became shared by five folks in the end. (snugs from england being one) It gave us a place to meet share and was protected by the mods and Jim to keep disruptors out. We now have a monthly dose. I’ll ping you to it.

If I left anything out or remembered incorrectly let solidwood know, folks.

Your Palin ping will still work in congruently with the dose....You ping folks to alert them to the articles...At the end of the day we all gather to share good things (pictures) and support each other We get our daily dose of good medicine/without distractors. I’ve pinged you to “W” last full day in office of the dose.

"One of the dumbest and most naive things Governor Palin has ever said. "

She is being polite and behaving as a Christian should. She is an inspiration as well as a role model as to how one should conduct themselves.

I, personally, would have told mclame to shove it where the sun don't shine. She is obviously a better Christian than I.

When W was President, we had a thread called, "A Day in the Life of President Bush" - rintense started it and others took the reins from time to time until snugs was our main poster.

The thread showed pictures of what W did on a daily basis...who he met with...where he was...what he did that day.

It was a great way to follow along with and support our President, as if we were almost a part of his life...a living diary.

Now, snugs posts a monthly thread that takes a look back at the special events of that month during various years. It keeps us all sane to see these pictures again, especially during these times of socialism and freedom-grabbing by this President.

We called it by a nick-name..."Sanity Island" or "The Dose" and FR posted an ICON on the Home Page to take you right to it. That's why some included Jim Robinson on the list of those to bring attention to this idea.

I'm sure we will (when we do this) love your ping list and hope that you would take the reins after rintense does the ceremonial first few thread postings...

This is NOT a thread that would ever take anything away from your thread, but perhaps evolve INTO a new one. We all just want to celebrate Sarah and her Conservative values with this tribute idea.

rintense...am I right?

The purpose of the DitL threads were to summarize with photos a particular day in the life of President Bush. That would also be the intent of the new Palin one. IMO, it doesn’t interfere with anything SolidWood posts. As far as I know, no one held any ‘exclusive’ rights to post information about GWB, just as now, anyone can post threads about Sarah. Its also likely that those who want to be pinged to Solid’s threads may not want to be pinged to the dose, and vice versa.

EXCELLENT...and if Rush would be helping her (without anyone knowing) ...developing whatever he could help with from the marketing/platform side... and combining that with her good sense ---you've got a show! Look at how many more people KNOW Huckabee now because of his FOX show?

I personally hope she talks with John R. Bolton, for world concerns...that man knows his S...tuff. ;-) (And, he's advised her b4)

AG there are GOOD memories . By the way, have you heard about the new book written by two of our freepers? It’s just come out and has an entire chapter re: Rather and how he was exposed...including material on Buckhead. Were you on that thread? I remember Howlin was!

Rin was that before your time?

No, I hadn't heard of this book. Do you have a link?

And no, I wasn't a contributor on Buckhead's famous thread.

Now they’ve combined efforts on another book. Can you help me get the word out?....
