I couldn’t help myslef so I made it worse. That is what he should be saying. The policies he would like to implement, will make the “Great Depression” look like prosperity.

The depression is very different from the present. Many familes are “two people” working.....and now living off one check....and many planned for the possibility.

And employment won’t get better until the exported jobs are returned.

The USA does not keep a record of those without work for many years, so the record of unemployment is much higher. USA was sending jobs overseas under Clinton and Bush, and some of those are still without work many years later, often being supported by relatives many years still.

I am one of those for whom the statistics no longer affect. I dropped out some time back and no longer count.

When “Freedom” returns I will join back in.

And nothing is in place to stop or even slow down very much this growing underemployment of US citizens.

Jobs will continue to be exported at greater and greater rates as the “cap and trade” legislation gets adopted, either as one big bite, or in smaller but equally indigestible bits and pieces. And why is that? Because there will only be “cap” and no “trade”. Large producers of carbon will buy out several of their smaller competitors, effectively creating a “trust”, and they shall be the holder of one large bloc of “carbon credits”, which rather than use in production of any more goods than they can make maximized profit on, they will sell or exchange to other similar trusts, also created by industry consolidation, those excess “carbon credits”, effectively barring entry into ANY industry by outsiders. The “carbon credits” effectively become the stock ownership of the corporate entities. Therefore, any production shall have to be undertaken OUTSIDE the US, and only foreign-based corporations will have incentive or capability to market in this country.

The big boys got theirs, to heck with anybody else. What was once known as the “Untied States” will become the new colonial investment opportunity for foreign interests. China needs oil? They send in an exploration and extraction crew to the Gulf of Mexico or North Dakota, plunder the deposit, and go home, and since they are not a domestic corporation, not much will be done. We will be reduced to the status of the Belgian Congo before 1961.

We could have avoided this if we had passed TARP and the "Stimulus" Package immediately

Oh, wait......never mind.
