The initial anger at the passing of the economy-killing cap and trade legislation, has been replaced by sadness. The Wexler bill is the second time in recent months that the US Congress has passed a major piece of legislation without, reading it (the first was the stimulus bill).
If you remember the 1,000+ page pokulus bill was passed just hours after it became available, impossible for those voting in favor to know what they were voting for. The Wexler Cap and Trade bill was passed under similar circumstances, many congressmen complained about the lack of time to read it.

Most everything I read about this bill is negative.
I dont know if they are illiterate,ignorant or actually have a desire to destroy America.
I am leaning toward the latter.
They pass the law first, and they figure out what it was they just they passed, some time later.
Actually I think they wait for someone else to tell them what was in it...

I wonder how hard it would be to slip some language into the Health care bill that would make Swedish the official language of the USA? It would make a point.
Something like this would be a *great* idea but the GOP submissions are so heavily screened - and the corrupt clauses inserted so secretly - that I don't think we could get a good gotcha in there.

OK, need input from the lawyers on this forum...is there any way we, as taxpayers, can sue to block passage of a law if we can prove it was not read prior to being voted on by our representatives? are there any grounds we can sue to block passage of a law passed by congress?

No they just want to be able to say “I didn’t read it” when people realize the constitution killer for what it is after it passes. Its what they did for NAFTA’s sovereignty killing agreement.
Now cap and trade cedes sovereignty to the United Nations. The UN is cited 22 times in the bill. It instructs the executive branch, the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Energy to consult the UN with making regulations, fees or fines, and before they spend our tax dollars on some UN required wealth transfer.
That’s why they don’t ‘read’ it. It kept them getting reelected after NAFTA, they think it will work again.
Well you got to get a Dem to insert it for you.

As the fecal matter in this bill becomes known, every congressman who votes for this bill should have this stuff thrown in their faces.
Only in “rubber stamp” legislatures are laws passed w/o reading them. Perhaps Congress should be renamed the Reichstag, so that we all may know who is actually “representing” us.
Mark Sanford's betrayal of his family doesn't hold a candle to this treasonous behavior. I didn't think a “public servant” could get any lower, until this vote. In my mind, there are 219 traitors in Congress who deserve to be arrested & jailed.
Here's an idea: Since they don't read the bills, why bother to vote on them. Just let Pelosi & Co. write whatever they want, skip the same process in the Senate - why bother, & send it to the Fuhrer for approval.

Nothing over 10 pages should be allowed, everything read in the well and attendance mandatory to vote.
