Yes, I had the undistinguished privilege of meeting Michael Jackson. We actually talked to each other, and I must say I was as unimpressed then as I have been ever since.
We met when I was writing for a Montreal weekly newspaper back in the 1970s. To put things in perspective, one of my beats was entertainment, which I generally loathed. In my position, I was given free prized tickets to a Rolling Stone concert, which I thought was one of the grossest displays of depravity since Sodom and Gomorrah.

I get the feeling that we should be asking for this reporter’s autograph for him not asking for Michael Jackson’s autograph — at least the reporter thinks so... LOL...
I think Michael Jackson, at least at the time, was less boring than this article, the intent of which is like a riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.
The journalist should consider a career change.
Wait! When did this meeting occur?
He says he was a writer for this paper in the 1970’s but Michael Jackson did not become a superstar until the early 1980’s.
His first big solo hit was in 1979.
So when did this rendezvous occur exactly?
So what, who cares? The DEMS are stealing our freedoms and money. That is what is important now.
Career change, STAT
He said Jackson was a teenager, He is one year older than me
I was a Marine in 1977
This could have happened easily. Remember the Jackson 5?
MIchael Jackson was well known for over a decade before the 80’s, they even had a cartoon show we all watched on Saturdays.
I don’t believe this guy for a second
“They even had a cartoon show we all watched on Saturdays”.
Your parents should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this.
I think if I could sit down with anyone at this time, other than God, Jesus and all the great prophets and saints, I would still choose my dad. (He died in 1981)
He's still the greatest man I've ever known.
I met Jerry Clower once. Jerry who?
I had the very similar thing happen to me with George Soros.
Back in the 90s I worked for John Wiley and sons. Soros was either working on or had finished “Soros on Soros”. He was having a meeting with one of the execs. They were trying to get some information off of the as/400 so the call came in and I went up to the executive floor. I walked into the office and he said “Hi I’m George Soros”. Me, having no clue whatsoever who he was said “Hi, I’m XXXX XXXX”. I turned to Deborah Wiley and asked her was the problem was, I fixed it(laptop wasn’t docked properly) and left.
When I got back to IT, the other guys started peppering me with questions. They were like “DUDE!! YOU MET SOROS!!!!”. I’m like “eh? what’s the big deal?” Heh, I was told afterwords.
