Liberals love to whitewash the truth and when it comes to reporting on the death of the so-called, self-labeled King of Pop, Michael Jackson, that fact is on sad display again.
Why does The New York Times feel compelled to whitewash Jermaine Jacksons farewell to his brother during the press conference held at the hospital last night? As he concluded a fluff piece that yielded no new facts about Michaels final exit that the fawning press hadnt already spewed, Jermaine said, May Allah be with you always.
Lets hope The New York Times bought its reporter a hearing aid this morning, because Jermaines words came out a little different in The Gray Lady: May our love be with you always (Brooks Barnes, Shock and Grief Over Jacksons Death, The New York Times, June 25, 2009, http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/26/arts/music/26jackson.html?pagewanted=2&hp).
Does the Allah be with you goodbye signal that Michael was Muslim? That Jermaine is Muslim? OK couldnt care less. The statement and its distortion in the newspaper raises a more important question: Why would the NY Times whitewash the Muslim reference, if not to once again walk on eggshells around Muslims? This is a trend in the lamestream media that weve seen time and again in recent years.
Of course, OK shouldnt be so surprised. Coming from a liberal press that refuses to use the word terrorist when describing American-Muslim warfare, nothing generated by them should surprise us anymore.
But there may be a more disturbing cover-up here: The New York Times may be trying to help whitewash Michael Jackson's horribly tarnished reputation. This whitewashing extends to everything from his skin color to the pedophile charges leveled at him.
Last night on FOX News, Al Sharpton praised Jackson for breaking color barriers. He didnt once mention that by constantly reworking his face via plastic surgery and dyeing his skin white in many cases, whiter than most Caucasian people standing next to him! Jackson seemed to negate his black roots.
And of course there are the child abuse scandals that Jackson had to face over the years: the 1993 charge he paid $22 million to end rather than see go to trial (Robert Sandall, Will Michael Jackson Survive His Concert Marathon, The Sunday Times, May 31, 2009, http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article6372171.ece) and the more recent child abuse scandal from which he was cleared but which was precipitated by his onscreen admission that he slept with boys and that its something the whole world should do (Michael Jackson Confesses: I Sleep with Boys, World Net Daily, February 4, 2003, http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=30853).
In our ObamaWorld 4 essay, we mentioned that Disney is kowtowing to liberal pressure by implementing changes to its upcoming Frog Princess film. Here we seem to be witnessing the same behavior from The New York Times as they cover the Michael Jackson farewell circus except that this time, its internal whitewashing and self-censorship, since few papers have as liberal a lean as The New York Times. Bottom line: the tanking newspaper doesnt dare risk losing any part of its customer base. It would rather distort news to keep liberals happy and in blissful ignorance when it comes to Muslim and MJ references. It needs the green stuff too much to do otherwise.
I thought the family were all Jehovah’s Witnesses. When did that change?
Jackson was “black”, muslim and a sexual pervert. Now what are the odds the NY Times would print anything but love letters about him?
You should read the book “Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness.” It explains everything. His surgeries were due to his determination to never look like the father who abused him and hurt his mother through his infidelities.
His family wanted to keep him so they could use him for their own glorious ambitions. He was the sole reason the Jackson Five did as well as they did. I also think the Jehovah’s Witness religion did a lot of damage.
I’m still jolted that he’s gone. It’s as if something great has gone from the world. He was a fabulous singer and his moonwalk is legend. I wish he had managed to reach out to someone. I don’t approve of what he did to those boys, but he just was so lost.
In the end, God, whose ways are mysterious, will decide where he belongs. I hope he gets into heaven.
Good job!
I had stopped leaving FNC on for background noise, since Shep Smith had me spitting mad last year. But I had turned it on late last night, to watch the late showing of Glenn Beck and then Red Eye, but fell to sleep with it on. And since I had to brave early morning T storms and run an errand, I forgot to turn the TV over. So, when I got home and started surfing the net, FNC was still on in the other room, when I heard that MJ garbage. I thought I had recognized the voice of Geraldo, when I heard that “pure genius” comment. When I jumped up to finally change the channel, sure enough, there was Geraldo. I didn’t think to back up the Tivo to see if I heard it correctly, as I just wanted to get it off my TV. (If grabbing your crotch is genius, then I am glad to remain an uncouth idiot...)
Diana Ross didn’t discover the Jackson Five. It was hype from Motown. You should read “Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness” and you’ll realize that the whole history of the Jackson Five was made up solely to glorify Diana and Berry Gordy.
I think Jackson left the religion after he was blasted for “Thriller.” As for the others, I think they joined out of the whole Black Power movement.
Jermaine was outed as a Muslim a while back. MJ I’m not sure about.
This is good for ratings. I imagine it will be much of the weekend.

While you may be onto something re his muzzie conversion, I always thought that this act was part of his Jew-hatred brought on—at least in part—by the fact that one of the kid’s families that sued him was Jewish. Remember...in one of his last popular songs from his HIStory album in ‘96, the words “Jew-me, sue me” and “kick me, kike me” were in it.
Sounds likely!! That needed push, huh?
