Calvin Klein spokesman said its "intention was to create a very sexy campaign that speaks to our targeted demographic." Are they trying to sell clothes to porn stars?

Imagine walking down the streets of New York with your kid and having to explain the 50ft. orgy on display. I think the kid would probably be able to give a better explanation.

I’m sure that the male model was more into the cameraman than the girls.

our targeted demographic. Here's hoping that's a very narrow demographic. Would Brooke still be a part of that group or would she be too chaste?

The irony is disturbing. WND is getting its billboards (”Where’s the Birth Certificate?”) rejected by some of the largest billboard advertisers in America, but Calvin Klein gets to put pornography on theirs!!!

When asked about the message behind the ad, Calvin Klein spokesman said its "intention was to create a very sexy campaign that speaks to our targeted demographic."
Their intention was to garner attention, which they've done. Sounds like a pretty effective ad. Most of the people offended by the ad are not in the target demographic, and the fact that they are offended will increase the appeal of the product to many in the target demographic. Best thing to do if you don't like it is ignore it.
To: Heather Hogue
Advertising, the more screaming and yelling over the content the more attention, Calvin Klein products are very overpriced trash.
The attention is being driven by the marketing people, ignore it, they cannot stand to be ignored.

So Camel cigarettes, et al, cannot market their products to minors -- and it's still up to some debate as to whether
that was happening or not -- but Calvin Klein can peddle amarital and (likely) unprotected sex to minors without concern.
Sounds like situation normal in America.
