I am not one to quote Shmuley Boteach. I am less than enamored with his interest in becoming the Jewish icon to the goyim. But he is dead on the money in his Jpost column The coming storm: Obama and American Jewry.

APRPEH's last post concerning Jeremiah Wright and his message to B. Hussein Obama and subsequently to anyone else who was paying attention, drew a conclusion that Wright (who knows Obama as well, if not better than most people) seemed to be surprised and disappointed that Barry was concealing his true self. This conclusion should be in mind to read the remainder in context. more.

This is not a post about dual-loyalties for those of you looking for that nonsense. It is a post about the role of Jews in American politics and why they should be in opposition of the current administration and not supporting it.

Let us hope other American Jews will see the light and turn on those that would sell Israel out. It's only 1 year and 4 months.

There are Jews of the Torah and Jews of the dinner table. The latter do not care much about Truth and Tradition. They are too busy assimilating.
These are the ones who led Judaism down the cratered path to destruction in Germany. They fail to grasp the significance of “Never again.”

I completely agree with this thread and the article but I have to take umbrage here at your post.

My concern is that there is a price to pay for caring more about fitting in with cultural icons than following the dictates of ones faith. Christians and Jews alike believed it could not happen in modern, sophisticated Germany. They were wrong.
Solzenyskin's belief that the Russian peasant might have risen up against those who came to take them, that such an action could have ended the tyranny before it began, is equally applicable in Germany.
There was no outcry against the racial and geopolitical tyranny of the Hitler regime.
What is at stake is what will happen here. There are enough voices claiming, and eyes seeing, and historians clarifying the unmistakable parallels between 0, Hitler and Stalin to warrant serious consideration.
Liberals have been blinded by the megalomania of 0. Liberal Jews have a unique set of concerns vis a vis Israel. It remains to be seen whether there will be a rising up against one more paroxysm.
I do not in any way intend to claim that Jews were responsible for the Holocaust. Good people, however, did not rise up against it nor did nations that should have cared. “Never again” is a cry that must be heard in this land as well.
