letterman

David Letterman apologizes for his delivery of a bad joke Monday evening.

The 61 year old pervert’s mea culpa was less than sincere.

Letterman begged forgiveness for his poor delivery of a repugnant raillery.

We know Lettermens intent.

His intent was to belittle and attack Sarah Palin through a remark about her daughter. He had already called Sarah slutty and then tries to back that up by denigrating her daughter.

Anything else he says is a lie.

You have said my thoughts...very clearly.

He can not “back” out of this since no other explanation is plausible.

Take a vacation, Dave!

From NewsBusters.org, June 9, 2009...

Seven months after Election Day, and the attacks on Sarah Palin keep coming.

On Monday, CBS's David Letterman on the "Late Show" shamelessly went after the Alaska governor and her family during his opening monologue, as well as in his "Top Ten" list.

Top Ten Highlights Of Sarah Palin's Trip To New York

10. Visited New York landmarks she normally only sees from Alaska

9. Laughed at all the crazy-looking foreigners entering the U.N.

8. Made moose jerky on Rachael Ray

7. Keyed Tina Fey's car

6. After a wink and a nod, ended up with a kilo of crack

5. Made coat out of New York City rat pelts

4. Sat in for Kelly Ripa. Regis couldn't tell the difference.

3. Finally met one of those Jewish people Mel Gibson's always talking about

2. Bought makeup from Bloomingdale's to update her "slutty flight attendant" look

1. Especially enjoyed not appearing on Letterman

"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez."

Jokes about rape are not “bad jokes”.

Jokes about raping a young teenage girl are not merely disgusting and outrageous.

To call this a “joke” is beyond the pale.

Before Imus there was Soupy Sales:

On New Year’s Day, 1965, Soupy asked his young audience to go to Daddy’s wallet and get those, “little green pieces of paper with pictures of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Lincoln, and Jefferson on them, send them to me, and I’ll send you a postcard from Puerto Rico.”

Soupy Sales! The outcry from parents led to a suspension (most people believe he was fired outright).

Bend over, Dave.
Maher, you’re next.
Hollywood, the Beltway,
NYC—this could take all day,
even with the machine.

‘They fired Imus, they should fire Letterman.’

I’m missing something here. I’ve seen several posts and an article or two stating (or suggesting) that CBS fired IMUS a few years back. Imus had two gigs when he made his remark: WFAN 660 in NY, and a simulcast of his radio program on MSNBC. I don’t believe WFAN has any connection to CBS, since there is a WCBS 880 on the dial. MSNBC is a branch of NBC. IMUS was later hired by WABC 770. As far as I can tell, he’s had no relationship with CBS.

Not enough. He needs to be fired.

I wrote six of his advertisors to tell them I will boycott them until they drop support.

I don’t really care what his affiliation was when he was fired. (I also don’t believe he should have been fired.) The outcry over his remarks from the politicians, Sharpton, the public, et al was so great that it should apply to Letterman as well. Just my opinion.
