‘They fired Imus, they should fire Letterman.’
I’m missing something here. I’ve seen several posts and an article or two stating (or suggesting) that CBS fired IMUS a few years back. Imus had two gigs when he made his remark: WFAN 660 in NY, and a simulcast of his radio program on MSNBC. I don’t believe WFAN has any connection to CBS, since there is a WCBS 880 on the dial. MSNBC is a branch of NBC. IMUS was later hired by WABC 770. As far as I can tell, he’s had no relationship with CBS.
I don’t really care what his affiliation was when he was fired. (I also don’t believe he should have been fired.) The outcry over his remarks from the politicians, Sharpton, the public, et al was so great that it should apply to Letterman as well. Just my opinion.
