You may have seen the petition to fire David Letterman circulating on the internet via emails and blog sites. Michael Leahy, the creator of FireLetterman.com has organized a protest rally to be held on Monday. Let’s strike back against the distasteful and hateful sexists attacks of Governor Palin and her young daughters by liberal talk show host David Letterman. Let’s send Letterman, CBS and its sponsors a message loud and clear. ENOUGH!!!

I am pleased to report that we have received enough volunteer leader commitments from the now 2,253 people on this mailing list to make a FIRM DECISION to go forward with a planned FIRE DAVID LETTERMAN RALLY, currently scheduled to be held from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm this Monday June 15 outside the Ed Sullivan Theater, located at 1697 Broadway in New York City.
If you live anywhere within a 4 hour driving distance of New York City, please plan on attending this event. Bring your own signs (be creative but PG rated!). We will be announcing more details over the weekend so stay tuned.
We need more volunteers to help our "Project Servant-Leaders", so please email me at michaelpatrickleahy@gmail.com if you can provide some time.
Laureen Cummings has agreed to serve as our "Project Servant- Leader" responsible for our Media Relations.
Marie Wilkinson and others have agreed to share "Project Servant-Leader" responsibilities in the Social Media arena.
We have volunteers for our logistics and volunteer coordination areas as well, and will be announcing the names of that leadership group over the weekend.
Keep telling your friends on the internet and in person to sign the letter to CBS asking them to fire David Letterman at our website, http://www.firedavidletterman.com .
Two additional pieces of news to show that we and others are already making some progress:
1. CBS has received so many negative comments about Letterman they have shut down the comments section of their website.
2. A leading New York State Legislator, Brian Kolb, publicly called today for CBS to fire Letterman.

I agree with Leahy on Letterman, but his efforts to convene a constitutional convention make anything else he is organizing suspect. I don’t doubt that Letterman would like a constitutional convention too!
As much as I despise sleaze Letterman and all the Liberal-biased MSM, I wish these people would use their time and energy exposing Zero’s treason and working to get 98% of the members of Congress exposed and voted out of office.

The networks know ‘controversy’ means ratings as a lot of the sheep will tune in just to see what ‘DUMB THING’ he may say...much like Vanna drew a lot of ‘who care audience’ years ago when people ‘dropped by’ to see what was tantalizingly draped from her bod....
The way to get the aholes is through the advertisers and on/off switch.
It doesn’t mean jack to me whether Letterman, Leno etal are or are not on the air...it takes someone to tune them in to make them ‘effective’..Of course a sympathetic MSM always held get you publicity when you get brash enough....
Can you imagine what would have been done to a conservative radio or tv talk show host for saying something similar about a democrat?

Agree — but I see no harm in writing/calling CBS to complain, and in people picketing Letterman’s NY studio. No doubt Conan O’Brien is doing a happy dance right about now in his new 11:30 time slot, not that Conan is incapable of spewing the same garbage as Letterman.
For the moment though, Letterman is the #1 bad guy, made worse by his snarky and not-believable “apology” the other night. If he had simply and sincerely said, “I’m really sorry” to Todd, Sarah and Willow Palin and to anyone else hurt during his remarks, I could’ve let it go.
If he’d said he didn’t realize Willow is just 14 years old (not that it matters even if he meant Bristol, who is older), I MIGHT have been a little more forgiving.
But the WAY he made his half baked apology was as insulting as were the very offensive “jokes” about Sarah and Willow —and let’s face it, flight attendants! Maybe even A. Rod himself might feel a bit insulted — I know the guy has quite a reputation but not sure ‘knocking up’ 14 year old girls is part of it — don’t think so!
