Letterman's Lame Apology / John Zeigler Rips "Letterwoman" Apologist Contessa Brewer
Chicago Ray Report ^ | 6-11-09 | Chicago Satirist

Letterman's defense of his rape jokes are about as sincere as Barack Hussein Obama's Christian claims. He's only playing the usual liberal "CYA" routine because he now realized that these jokes belonged in the humor section of Teen Rape Monthly

Along with the realization that that he and the world know damn well he would never get away with telling such sick jokes about any liberal petri dish created children, and even in apologizing he still mocks the Palin family and middle America.

That was the lamest attempt at an apology I’ve ever seen. He was still trying to be funny while doing it, which makes it an act and not an apology.

If he WAS talking about Bristol, which obviously he wasn’t, then he owes her a HUGE apology.

And where was the apology to Alex Rodriguez and Flight Attendants everywhere?

He basically forgot the first rule of holes.

This fascination Letterman has with child rape seems to indicate that the NYPD needs to look into the welfare of his own child.

Would Contessa be defending Letterman if he had made those comments about the Obama daughters? I think we know the answer to that one!

Maybe if he'd called them "nappy headed ho's " they would get offended.

Maybe they'd fire him, cancel his contract, make him provide a public apology.

But he's combining his sexism with pedophilia / child abuse, so it's OK, provided it's a republican target.

Seriously, I hope this incident creates sufficient public outrage to get Letterman canned.
But it probably won't.
Sad, isn't it?

He won’t be fired or suffer in the slightest bit. The worst that will happen is he will take the Pelosi.... by simply refusing to talk about it again.

No wonder he’s such a loser, he sees himself as a failure in life. All that money, all that fame... and Letterman still gets stuck with the homely girl... classic.

I heard it and it wasn’t an apology. He was just “explaining” his joke for those who didn’t “get” it. Anyway, he jokes the same way about everybody. We look like thin-skinned old fogies by making a big deal about it - not to mention increasing his ratings big time. I say drop it immediately and move on. We’re helping him.

Writting to his sponsors does nothing to improve his ratings. Letting CBS know that I am writting his sponsors and urging them to sponor Conan O'Brian does not improve his ratings. I will not drop it.

I understand that publicity generates attention, which generally generates ratings. I have no intention of improving his ratings.

An apology contains three things, and if these three things are not included, whatever is said is NOT an apology. The three things:

1) I was wrong to do that

2) I am sorry

3) Please forgive me

A statement that shifts blame (I’m sorry if you were offended) or one that is a justification for whatever you did (like Letterman did) is not an apology.

The proper response to an an apology that does contain those thing things is:

1) I forgive you

If, instead, you say, “That’s OK”, “Don’t give it another thought,” or “Don’t worry about it,” the other person is still in your debt for the offense. You have not accepted the apology they have given.

“I forgive you” announces there is not longer any debt required. ‘Forgive’ means the apology the other person gave is accepted. All accounts are square in both directions.

He doesn't joke the same about everybody. He follows the liberal template when making jokes. Tear down conservatives whenever possible. It's absolutely right for Palin and conservatives to call this what it is....hate speech. It doesn't matter if it's couched in a "joke". Letting it go by is tantamount to perpetuating the stereotype.

If our side told a "rape joke" about Caroline Kennedy - the overstuffed fifty year old - the press would be out in full force "protecting" her. Or even Chelsea Clinton - a middle-aged woman of a man who boinked teenagers when she was a teenager - the press would be OUTRAGED! The would call it HATEFUL.

But a rape joke about a 14 year old? No problem - they believe any excuse Letterman comes up with.

(They believe any excuse BECAUSE THE RAPE JOKE IS ABOUT A CONSERVATIVE CHILD)

“(They believe any excuse BECAUSE THE RAPE JOKE IS ABOUT A CONSERVATIVE CHILD) “

Sums the whole thing up completely, just imagine a “whatchu talkin about willis” joke applied to the Obama daughters or any joke for that matter>

And the kicker is they know that conservatives are too principled to attack in kind...however my motto is when your fighting pigs (the left) in their own sty (the msm world) sometimes your shirt gets a little muddy.
