Back during the last admin it was Bush’s fault, but in this admin Hussein states that prolonged detention “should not be the decision of any one man.” Passing the buck so he can’t be held responsible if there is any criticism. That’s the change he’s touting.

None of these knot-heads, including our POtuS and the reporter, understand the concept of prisoners of war.
If they were captured on a battlefield, they are the equivalent of POWs (or whatever you want to call them)... but they are not due the rights under the Geneva Convention... they are not fighting for a state, do not wear uniforms and are not a co-signee of the Convention.
They are most definitely NOT owed the US court / trial process. And, they should be released ONLY AFTER the war is over.

Rachel Maddow is not a fool.
Conservatives mostly did not appreciate what the Patriot Act would do in the hands of a Leftist. Rachael understands exactly how "Prolonged Detention" could be used by a future administration which does not like her and her friends.

This is the single reason why the detainees were kept in Gitmo. The minute they are brought the US they will have to be tried for past crimes. It’s Habeas Corpus, Obama. Perhaps you read about that in law school.
