Absolutely remarkable. A 51 year-old man lives with his father in a trailer. Thirty-four years ago - as a minor - the man was arrested with a friend that had forged a check. That made him a "former felon." His father collects guns. The dozen or so guns are secured in a safe. With search warrant in hand, "15 officers from the U.S. bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local police" surround the trailer, use a battering ram on an unlocked door, throw people to the floor, point guns at their heads, handcuff them, and proceed to trash the place.

I too am a convicted “former felon”. All i did was run over some pesky neighborhood children and now the government will not let me teach children in my local school system, Can you believe it?? I mean it was 34 years ago. I am OK now(i was set up) and i want my guns back too. Geez those jack-booted ATF thugs are unreal. Can you believe they want me to petition the court to get my rights back. The nerve of those rats. Obamas fault for sure.

I dunno...but that seems pretty serious.
IF...I was sent a letter from a Federal Gov. Agency...because I recently bought a bunch of ammo. I'd be screaming to high heaven...
So...in honor of a great American..."Trust, but verify"
I'd like some proof...that this actually happened.

I agree. Let me ask my friend and I’ll see if I can get a few more details. She did say that one of the doctors had consulted an attorney and that one of the doctors had commented that he didn’t think he had purchased all that much.

From the GCA of 1968:
(20) The term "crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year" does not include --
(A) any Federal or State offenses pertaining to antitrust violations, unfair trade practices, restraints of trade, or other similar offenses relating to the regulation of business practices, or
(B) any State offense classified by the laws of the State as a misdemeanor and punishable by a term of imprisonment of two years or less.
What constitutes a conviction of such a crime shall be determined in accordance with the law of the jurisdiction in which the proceedings were held. Any conviction which has been expunged, or set aside or for which a person has been pardoned or has had civil rights restored shall not be considered a conviction for purposes of this chapter, unless such pardon, expungement, or restoration of civil rights expressly provides that the person may not ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms.
It appears here, that if the state in which you were convicted restores your rights upon completion of your sentence/probation/parole, you are no longer considered to be a convicted felon by the GCA.

FACT: The 2nd Amendment is SELF-incorporated to all government entities at every level. It is MORE ABSOLUTE than the 1st Amendment, or any of the others, because the wording forbids not only CONGRESS, but ANYONE from infringing on it. The 1st says Congress shall make no law.... The 2nd say shall NOT be infringed! Period! End of debate!

I have a feeling that there's more to this story than is being given here.
That said, I do anticipate further encroachments of this sort from these agencies; this happens every time a favorable support environment exists in the White House, as is most definitely the case now.

I have never understood why the smoking lobby and the gun lobby don’t get together - they have the same enemies, the enemies of freedom. Between the two, and maybe a few more groups, the Congress wouldn’t take a crap without first receiving permission.

A couple of weeks ago, in the Houston, Texas area, two BATFE agents showed up at a residential home. They were making demands to see the two (2) pistols the homeowner had purchased, from a FFL dealer, the previous weekend at the Pasadena Gunshow. They wanted to verify the serial numbers and that he still possessed the pistols (i.e., not a strawman buyer). The owner refused to cooperate without a warrant.
The agents were from Illinois on temp duty in Houston due to the number of guns going from Texas to Mexico. This was on local talk radio. No updates.
