Needs of the Many ^

Posted on 05/11/2009 10:09:49 AM PDT by vaper69

Students in Pueblo, Colorado have been given a homework assignment to come up with a terrorist attack for history class.

Naturally, the school is saying that the kids misinterpreted the assignment, and that any kid who plots an attack on the school will be punished. They are destroying the assignments as we speak.

Is an assignment like this appropriate for school? Take the poll at the link.

We did that in OCS.

Helped people look for weak spots and become situationally aware.

Its only appropriate if you are plotting to assasinate George Bush. Then its fine.
But to make Dear Leader look bad, NEVER!

It could be a very good assignment. It might wake some students and their parents up to what’s going on around them. It might make them more aware. It will definitely get the kids thinking, researching, and learning how and why terrorists need to be stopped. It might be what saves this country in the next 9/11.

Draw a rifle -- get a suspension.
Plan a terrorist attack -- earn extra credit.

I swear all the rules are upside down now. Who knows what is allowable? I just feel like I can be stopped and punished at any time for any reason.

I bet over half of them still struggle with English and math.

They are destroying the assignments as we speak.

They will find great work in the NewDemocrat Party. Sandy Berger can even come in for a guest lecture.
