I feel almost as much sympathy for Arlen as I do for fire ants when I pour gasoline on their mound...

The very best part is that I didn’t expect Arlen’s comeuppance to “comeup” this swiftly!

The daily posts are so sweet!

A funny thing happened on the way to the front of the Democrat seniority line ... , the Democrats in the Senate voted to strip Specter of his seniority. ... The vote ... left him with the power of a freshman.

The all important, all mighty, the center of the American Senate, Arlen Specter now is the equivalent of a Democrat freshman with dim to no chance of winning the Democrat primary.

LOL! What goes around comes around.

At least the Manhattoes got their $24 worth of beads and trinkets BEFORE they sold the island.

The truly amusing thing about Benedict Arlen is that had he just retired gracefully, he could have moved into the role of “elder statesman”, been a darling of the MSM, been invited into prestigious corporate boards and generally made huge sums of money like Algore.

But now he is as loved and respected as a bloated and stinking dead raccoon underneath the floorboards, that everyone just wishes would go away, but no amount of deodorant can conceal.

What issues can Specter possibly give that will appeal to dim voters if he gets a good primary opponent? Specter is gone, either by primary or by the general election next year.

And will democrats issue the final coup de grace by presenting Arlen the Magnificent with a primary rival? Well, 80 years old, a proven coward, thug, traitor and sell-out. Thoroughly unreliable, breathtakingly arrogant and self-absorbed. Sure, on the face of it he appears to be the perfect dem candidate! But there is a God and there will be a primary!

I guess Arlene just found out what most of us already know...Never trust a Democrat.

Arlenes ship (so he thought) was set to sail but unfortunately he was at the airport.

".... And because I’m too damned important to allow Pennsylvania Republican voters to decide my fate I’m telling Republicans to kiss off!"

~~snip~~~ on NBC's "Meet the Press," Specter was asked about Reid's assurance. "That's an entitlement. I've earned the seniority," Specter said. "I will be treated by the Democrats as if I'd been elected as a Democrat."

A funny thing happened on the way to the front of the Democrat seniority line Tuesday night, the Democrats in the Senate voted to strip Specter of his seniority. Specter has served in the Senate for twenty-nine years.

The vote, as stated before, left him with the power of a freshman.

Arlen, you're own3d and have been pawn3d! (think those are the correct terms?)

Or to put it another way...

You and the RATS have played out 'The Scorpion and the Frog'
and YOU were the frog!
......
Enjoy your place on the bottom rung of the RAT ladder, traitor.
(did you at least get your 30 pieces of silver?)

There is no reason for the Democrats to give Specter a thing.

Unlike Jeffords in 01, the Dems have a firm majority already and they already had Specter’s vote on critical cloture votes. The Dems get very little here, so they’ll pay very little- particularly as Specter can’t go back now.
