For her first visit here as First Lady, Michelle Obama recycled a wardrobe staple. She shopped her closet and picked a Tracy Feith dress that she's worn before for a meet-and-greet at the U.S. mission to the UN Tuesday afternoon.

At the podium, Obama's voice quivered with emotion as she told the crowd she never imagined she'd be a role model for girls around the globe.

"Seeing as how Michelle is the greatest First Lady we've ever known, not to take anything away from the other First Ladies, but I think its so fantastic that she's tonight's guest and leads the pack of influentials," Winfrey told the Daily News.

I thought Barbara Bush was a fine First Lady.

Me too. Imagine Laura ever saying such a this about herself:

Obama's voice quivered with emotion as she told the crowd she never imagined she'd be a role model for girls around the globe.

She and her husband need to get over themselves.

You get to wear a ‘disaster dress’ like that once. It did not look good the first time and hanging around in your closet does not improve it.

Yesterday, someone called it the wisteria dress—wisteria is pretty, that dress is not. She is ‘on camera’ so much and needs to look good, therefore, why does she just not wear plain, classic stuff. She would get far more use out of the items and a lot less criticism from the fashion police.

Fashion designer Tracy Feith stands next to his work. His fabric-based piece was beyond "one of a kind"... it was "once in a lifetime".

I think she'd look better in this number..../s

No other First Lady has said she was a “role model for girls around the globe.” BO and his missus certainly are an indictment of the self-esteem insanity of the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Someone ought to tell them that millions of people think they are where they are today because of affirmative action laws, not merit.

At least the dress photographs better close up than when she wore it to the National Cathedral the day after the Inauguration. From a distance, it appeared she was wearing camo.

No other First Lady has said she was a “role model for girls around the globe.”

Usually, the press would have a field day with a remark like this. These are strange times.

At the podium, Obama’s voice quivered with emotion as she told the crowd she never imagined she’d be a role model for girls around the globe.

“Girls who possibly look at me and see something more for themselves, more than society expects of them. Girls who now think, maybe just maybe, anything is possible,” she said.

“As global leaders, let’s not underestimate the power each of us has to change the world for someone - and let’s not be afraid to try.” snip
“Seeing as how Michelle is the greatest First Lady we’ve ever known, not to take anything away from the other First Ladies, but I think its so fantastic that she’s tonight’s guest and leads the pack of influentials,” Winfrey told the Daily News.

Wow both of them are so full of themselves...their egos are so big, I wonder how they could both be seated at same table?!

My personal favorite, I have to say — not taking anything away from any other Republican OR Democrat. She gets a big kiss and hug from me (figuratively, of course) every time I get a chance.

"Girls who possibly look at me and see something more for themselves, more than society expects of them. Girls who now think, maybe just maybe, anything is possible," she said.

So, what is her great accomplishment...marrying a man who would someday cheat his way to the presidency???

Winfrey told the Daily Newsand went on to relate how lonely she [Winfrey] felt as a lonely upholstery model. But now Michelle has opened the barn door to millions of future upholstery and drapery models throughout the universe.

It a stretch for sure. I just hope she never turns her head and we have to see that jaw again.

So what's wrong with wearing a dress more than once?

Actually, that dress looks just right for this time of year, unlike when she wore it in January. The biggest problem with the dress is that is just not the right shape for her.
