Why Are We Arguing?

I've noticed here and elsewhere that many people agree with one another and share nearly identical viewpoints, but state it slightly differently.

And they argue with one another. Have you noticed that? Person A states X and Person B states X again in slightly different words, call it X_a if you like, but now it's his idea and Person A is wrong. I'm not sure if that's worse or if it's worse when Person A argues that Person B is wrong.

I'm on a mailing list where this just occured and I thought it might be fun to share this observation.

I happen to be person A and I am never wrong. Persons X and B just won’t accept it.

Yeah it seemed like you had it right in the first place . Person X and Xa are just trying to stir things up and probably B too.
