Playing pansy politics with pirates put the Captains life at increased risk. His first escape attempt was thwarted by the thugs as Phillips remained adrift from the aid and cover of the US Navy, which sat restrained by an administration too cowardly to let slip the dogs of war. Each day the tension and humiliation of a nation grew. The emboldened pirates fired upon our men of action, who thus restrained could not yet act in kind. The terrorists defiant lack of fear inspired their fellows to target other American vessels. All while the community organizer in chief flipped through his conflict resolution handbook.
But here, at long last, the captive captain is free. He leapt clear and our faithful Navy, apparently at last free to take the safety off, rid the world of three contemptible degenerates and have the fourth in custody to question. So the bold leap into the sea frees the President of the burden to act.
In the end, Captain Phillips wasnt saved by the President, but by his own courageous plunge and the deadly professionalism of our men with guns. The President, you see, was saved by the Captain.
Yep, it’s CYA
Yep, sure it was. Obama through his magical powers told the Captain to jump out of that boat:))) LOL
Then he gets the benefit of the doubt in this matter. If you can get someone in the press to ask him if the military had to wait for his permission, it would be nice to know.
Hilarious.............
Ummm, I think when a person is in a little boat floating around in shark infested waters with a bunch of nut jobs with AK47’s aimed at his head, he has been in imminent danger from the get go. Obama needs to do the right thing for a change and place the credit for this where it belongs.
I could not be prouder of our armed forces than at this moment. They decided whehn the best time to save the CAptain was, took action, and saved him. They said they had standing authority from the President to take this very action if they had the opportunity.
If the Captain was allowed to make landfall with these pirates, it would have been time to impeach the clown in the White House.
This is our Navy, Marines, and SEALS’ moment.
And the Captain’s as well—Capt. Phillips. Had he not treded himself for his crew’s, this would not have been as claean an ending, as boarding the Maersk Alabama would have presented opportunities for the pirates to take out multiple crew and military members.
Those Americans that fought the Barbary pirates 204 years ago are smiling in approval, somewhere, at their illustrious posterity.
(They are all heroes today, including the brave Captain who traded himself for his crews safety.
A more clear Easter story could not be toldthe first Captain who traded His life for his crews happened 2000 years ago on Golgotha.)
What a beautiful way to draw a comparison! Thank you very much this beautiful Easter Day and God Bless You!
Do they seriously have to call Zero to get permission to shoot in order to save one of our own being held captive by these thugs?
Looks like they did...grrrrrrrrrrrr....is what our Navy had to have been doing............
> Gee, I guess I am not smart enough to understand this. According to BO, being tied up in a lifeboat with terrorists did not put the Captains life in immenient danger?
Perfect comment.
Gee ! I didn’t know Tammy Bruce had so many fans here !
Quoting Wikipedia:
“Tammy Bruce collaborated with Los Angeles professional women to create one of the first ad-hoc independent pro-choice (abortion rights) activist groups. The group’s early feminist activism began in 1987.[4] This group confronted anti-abortion group protesters, and helped develop a strategy to stop “Operation Rescue” from successfully blocking the entrance to abortion clinics. During the years 1987-1990 she also participated in the the Los Angeles chapter of the AIDS activist group “AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power”, also known as “ACT-UP.”[5]
For seven years, Bruce served as president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) (1990-1996), the longest continuous tenure in the chapter’s 30-year history. She mobilized activists nationally and locally on multiple issues affecting women, including economics, child care, health care, portrayal of women in the media, and violence against women, particularly domestic violence. Bruce served two years on NOW’s board of directors, but later criticized the organization in a book. During the early 1990s, she spearheaded the campaign to alert the public to the sexualized violence in the novel American Psycho, and led an effort to boycott all titles by that publisher, Knopf, for a year”
Not to take anything away from the Captain, the Seals or anyone else involved, but this ‘heroic behavior’ has happened on almost a daily basis in Iraq and Afghanistan, under another Commander in Chief, but I might add, reported on by the same MSM. Yet we have different spins. Hmmm.
A screen name obviously go to the link....
Giving the jackal the benefit of the doubt? By not stopping the military from their job?
Faint praise indeed. The jackal deserves no praise, ever, for anything, unless and until he gives himself up as an imposter and usurper and allows the handcuffs to be snapped onto his filthy wrists.
Yes.
I agree. He shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt on the eligilibity issue because the citizenry's request to see the proof is a reasonable and necessary demand to insure the constitution has been obeyed.
I completely agree..........since, I’ve had 4 of my own in both theatres....one was hit by an IED [3rd time] ended up at Ft Sam Houston rehab for tramatic brain trauma...was his 5th deployment...finally will remain state side and is now an instructor at Ranger School...
The rumble is that he was still in the lifepod when the sharpshooters took out the three terrorists watching him.
Anybody have an update on this?
Man, I hope he dove in again.....Obama can't take the credit for THAT, try as he may.
Leni
Thank you—I’ll take all the blessing I can get!
Happy Easter to you and yours!
If the pirates had, somehow, taken his teleprompters as hostage he'd really be up the creek.
