Who is this guy? Has he ever studied history? Read anything from the Founding Fathers?
I understand "freedom of religion", but should he be saying this in a Muslim country?
Oh... that's right! This is Barack Obama who hates America, hates capitalism and wants to destroy us from within!
This is nice; now he's attacking religion and our Judeo-Christian value system this country was built upon.

Israel is a Jewish nation in terms of providing refuge for Jews, but isn't ensconsed in the legal system. There are 14 (15?) official religions, Judaism, Islam, the rest various Christian denominations, Bahai may have been added recently.

O.K. Why was the “Obama tells Turkey we are not a Christian Nation” thread pulled?

I think he's a Christian, however he comes from a tradition which sees faith in racial terms, Jesus being black, whites the devils which kept them down. And which sympathizes with Muslims as people of color. Whether he actually believes the tenets of black liberation theology I havent a clue, he certainly couldnt acknowledge it, but it clearly colors his thinking.
“I think he’s a Christian,...”
He is certainly not a Christian! He may be a “small-C christian”, but not a true Christian. If he were, he would not condone the murder of innocent children. True Christians exhibit humility, and he exhibits the height of pride and arrogance. His church (which is not actually a church, but a political activist organization).
He’s trying to be nice with the Muslims. It’s the same circumstances.
But as you mentioned, what meaning he personally had could be completely different from what was meant in the treaty, which was “We are not your enemy because of any religious nature of this country.” IOW, we’re not going to try to wipe out Muslims out of some religious fervor. It was a sensible statement in the treaty.
But with Obama you never know.
Are there any Muslim rules as to how low one is to bow?
Not when our President is bowing to the Saudi King...
He should ask the Turks and Saudis why they cling to religion.
If we do, it'll be an Islamic one, not a Christian one. Just like Europe is surrendering through its political correctness. They were sooooo worried about evil Christians taking over that they didn't watch at their backsides and now they are getting scr&&&.
Lot's of Christians support abortion on demand, but I don't want to get into a dispute of whether it's a large or small C denomination. My point was to address the Muslim issue, his actions are completely consistant with a belief system he practiced for 15 years, and later publicly at lease, turned away from. He may well define his faith as Christian, but a faith defined by race, black vs white, and the persecuted vs persecutors. That is consistant with sympathy toward the Muslim world, oppressed, and a worldview of the USA as an oppressor nation. Thus his apologies. And even a rejection of the phrase Christian Nation as the faith of the oppressors. I know you werent, but in general I think its probably a mistake to blame his worldview on his status as a steath Muslim, when its explained by his acknowledged faith. A shame John McCain didnt understand that.
I don't believe the treaty could have been done without it. Note my post 114, his actions are consistant with his professed faith. It's not so much trying to make nice with the Muslims, rather an affinity for oppressed people of color.
Relax before you have an aneurysm.
The picture that is beginning to clearly emerge is that of a person raised in Muslim counries and immersed in Muslim and African culture. He has no feel or understanding or real relationship with Western culture.
He speaks no European languages, despite his expensive education, and doesn’t understand the role of Western Europe in forming the Judeo-Christian heritage that is the underpinning of America and her values.
He seems ignorant of Western civilation, history, and culture in general, not to mention his ignorance about the Founding Fathers, the Founding Documents, and American culture. His point of reference in never American, or Western European values and culture, bot that of the world of Islam.
We are in big trouble.
I’ll wait while you unknot your panties.
