Tammy Bruce recently remarked while guest hosting conservative Laura Ingraham's radio show that America "has trash in the White House."
Classy.
I didn't think much of it until I started receiving e-mails from folks who ranted that the Obamas are trailer trash who had no business in Europe last week, in classically misspelled prose. ("The 0bama's are totally without class or refinemet. Wow, I'm so impressed with the trailer trash from Chicago," one man desperately in need of spellcheck wrote).
This is one of those themes that makes no obvious sense. Barack and Michelle Obama are both Harvard-educated lawyers who earned millions thanks to the future president's book sales and the future first lady's rise up the corporate ladder. They've achieved the American Dream, what we all tell our kids they can be if they work hard enough.
Neither grew up in double wides; Barack lived in a Honolulu apartment and Michelle in a Chicago one. What's closer to the truth is that they both grew up in urban areas, but we all know what "urban" is code for.
No, "trash" is much safer for astute social observers. As Bruce helpfully explained, "Trash is a thing that is colorblind, it can cross all eco-socionomic ... categories." Oh, come on, people. You know that's not what you want to call the Obamas. It doesn't make sense. There's another word borderline cases are dying to use, but they don't have the guts.
Of course, some of my more racist readers don't have that problem, which is why God invented the delete key.
Well Susie, the only racist in the equation is the Jeremiah Wright-Father Phegler-James Meeks-Bill Ayers-Frank Marshall Davis-Malcom X-Rashid Khalidi-Louis Farrakhan disciple that now pretends he's the president.
I think the word everyone is reaching for to describe the BOs in the White House is vulgar. That is aside from the obvious “Marxist.”
Harvard and trash are not mutually exclusive.

When they called the Palins “trash”, I thought it was classless and obnoxious. It is equally classless and obnoxious when said about the Obamas.

I don't know that much a Michelle but it is becoming increasingly clear that either Barack Obama is playing very strange mind games or that he was the quintessential affirmative action acceptee and student at Columbia and Harvard. Absolutely no educated person thinks Austrian is a language or that there are 57 States in the US, nor would an educated person misspeak such nonsense.

Harvard educated lawyers? We don’t know his grades or how he got in. He didn’t work as a lawyer, but as a “community organizer”. She rose up the ladder because of his political positions. What we are learning is that he is illiterate, as in his inability to properly read the word derisive from his teleprompter this weekend and in saying he didn’t know how to say something in “Austrian”.
Susie, it isn’t that we all get the “talking points” faxed to us each day, it is that we all see about the same thing and call it what it is.
The Obamas ARE trash, of the worst kind, and certainly of a kind that’s NEVER gotten close to the Oval Office EVER: by that I mean, America-hating trash.
People like the Clintons and the Obamas are ALWAYS propagandized as “the smartest people in the world”,
yet I know cleaning ladies that are smarter than any of them. I seem to remember entirely fictitious biographies that were sold to the Romanian people about Mrs. Ceasescu
also, as being a great scientist, when she in fact had highschool level comprehension of her subject. These people never tire of mythologizing themselves, and in our own country they’ve got not only their own well paid spin doctors (now called “strategists”) but still the majority of the MSM. The MSM still kowtows to all the NONpolitical aspects of this Dynamic Duo, but that game is wearing fast, and the bloom will vanish from that rose entirely as soon as our crises compound, as they will before long.
Harvard-educated lawyers? Yeah, well that should actually mean something-—let’s see ONE THING Barack Obama wrote, one commentary on a law, or anything of the sort.
Michelle Obama had a law license but hasn’t used it since
1993. Now her acolytes are pushing for all the mileage they can get out of her as “First Mom”, and her young daughters become political tools to be manipulated as buffers for any criticism of their parents.
I and most of us could go on for 3 or 4 hundred more pages, as we’ve already done here on FR.
If this is what they consider to NOT be “trailer park trash” based soley on where one was educated, how do they explain the Bush bashing? Wasn’t he ivy league educated as well?
Ok, I won’t call them ‘trash’ but I know a sh*t salesman with a mouthful of samples when I hear one.
Personally, I don’t know what kind of “hard work” the Obama’s have done in their lives. You didn’t hear a whole lot of talk about their “careers” and grades in the news media during the election.
And...who CARES if they are Harvard-educated lawyers? He’s supposed to be a “Constitutional expert”, yet he and his fellow cronies in the federal government walk all over the Constitution like it’s a doormat.
And Obama was not misspelled, people have taken to putting a zero instead of an O to spell Obama..
That’s recyclable, Zero’s are not.
One question - just who is Susie Demas and DILLIGAS what she thinks?
