‘Civil disobedience’ is nothing more than threatening to beat someone on the fist with your face, until their conscience makes them do what you want.

The flaw in this logic when dealing with thugs and looters is obvious.

So far, what we have done...

Bank locally at a credit union.

Will not buy, lease, or even rent another GM, Ford, or Chrylser vehicle until after Obama's reign-of-economically-stupid-terror is over.

We will not do business with any business entity that received bailout funds from the Obama regime

Will not donate to political campaigns other than actual candidates (gave up on NRSC type committees because of their refusal to stop funding RINO's)

Spend ONLY on needs...no wants hardly at all (except for tax refund money...went to a few wants, rest to savings)

Cancelled every credit card we have. Debit cards work just as well.

self-employed status for wife (working from home means no more daycare expenses, which took up 85% of income at one point), and nice, legal tax write-offs

However...DO NOT DO THE W-4 strategy of 20 exemptions, unless you can PROVE them at the time you claim them.

More than 9, and a certain alphabet agency's attention is automatically gotten (read: HIGH probability of audits).

Finally, next election, we will again be Broken Glass Republicans and encourage everyone else the same.

I used to be a proponent of the the “tax revolt by eliminating withholding”. The though being that if millions of Americans changed their witholding so nothing was taken out of their checks that Uncle Sam would be left with an empty bag at the end of the month. But now I question the effectiveness of that kind of protest as I Uncle Sam has no problem spending and printing money that doesn’t exist. I think something more direct is needed.

There are legal ways of depriving the gov’t of almost ALL of the tax money that you “owe”.

There are some good tips in here, and they just require diligence. But if you follow them, not only are you denying the Feral Gov’t their lifeblood, there’s nothing they can do about it.

Here’s a fun and expository exercise:

Try to get a liberal to admit that taxes ultimately are extracted at gunpoint.

They’ll do all they can to avoid admitting it, twisting themselves into a pretzel, changing the subject, taking you down non-sequitur rabbit trails, etc.

Here’s a thought, perhaps a stupid one - we could redeem our Treasury bonds, and dump our money market mutual funds. It could be done in a coordinated way via the internet through social networking sites. On a particular day or days X many Billions would be dumped as a civil “No Confidence” vote. The only way to stop the spending madness is to dry up the bank. I’m sure this would get their attention.

The downside would be possibly accelerating the bankruptcy of the U.S. by to much selling. We’d all wind up eating tree bark and grass this year rather than the next.

I know lots of people who tried this when those tax frauds went around holding seminars teaching people "to go exempt". People who did were devastated financially.
