Ever been to a county or state fair? They have a "commercial" pavillion or two that have all kinds of "modern" stuff to sell to people out in the boondocks who might not have TV or some such thing to become aware of "newfangled" gadgets and such. Often, the huckster would wear a microphone that transmits into a speaker system so a crowd can hear the pitch.
I think that's what Shamwow guy is trying to channel here.

With each passing day, I grow more and more happy that we ditched our television.

Folks, when that nasty “Billy Mays” comes on my screen - I cannot get to the remote fast enough!
I have written to FNC, and other networks, letting them know, that they lose a viewer (sometimes for the rest of the day or night, when that abrasive creep comes on my TV!)
But - he must be making them money - or he wouldn’t still be there.
I just REFUSE to allow Billy May’s S C R E A M I N G in my house! And, I don’t care if they guarantee the segment coming up, promising to show “O” doing a pole dance in a gay club.
Billy Mays comes on - the channel is gone within seconds!
I pretty much keep the remote in my hand continuously while watching TV these days. Can’t stand a lot of crap that’s on.
But if you call in the next 20 minutes ...
The Swiffer Sweeper commercial with the valley-girl-talking voice over does that for me.

I hate that lying woman who tries to hide the Glade products & lies like a rug. (Telling her friends her Glade candles come from France.) I often think about telling Glade how I feel about promoting lying. I just don’t buy Glade products.
I knew this guy was the Eddie Haskel of his generation. He should have stuck to slapping his troubles away. ;^)
