The use of the "V-word" continues to be used in the most "enlightened" places. Today, it is an interview with health author Jane Brody in the NYT about her new book on planning for death. From the interview:
Q: When is the right time to start planning for death?Terri Schiavo was not a carrot or a turnip. She was a human being with a profound cognitive disability. Calling her a "V" demeans her and dehumanizes her moral worth as a human being--just as the odious "N-word" does people with dark skin. It should never be used among enlightened people. Indeed, we need to grow as a culture so that anyone using it is treated with the same disdain by polite society as we do now to anyone who uses the crude "N" epithet.
A: Start thinking about it when it's unlikely to happen any time soon. It's much easier to do it then. It's less painful. Get it out of the way. Many people are saying, "I'm going to take action now while I still feel good and I'm still healthy." You don't have to be old. If you recall, Terri Schiavo was 26 when she suffered a heart attack that deprived her brain of oxygen and left her a living vegetable for 15 years, at great cost and trauma to her family.
It just takes one come to Jesus moment on a deathbed or someone gets a book deal to raise cash. In this case, there actually was a conspiracy.
And thank you for that service.

Terri spent $80 on her hair. Some think that set him off. You know, he was already fired from McDonalds. He worked at a restaurant called Agostinos when Terri was attacked. Agostinos had a party for the killers years later but now I believe the restaurant’s closed.

Lots of freepers there including the court hearings. 8mmmauser did daily update from there.
Terri was improving but he took her rehab monies away and cut off all rehab. All he ever wanted was life ins $.
St. Pete Times did a how is he now interview of Judge Greer. He said although his chambers has a great view of the Clwtr Harbor, he never turns his back on the door. He KNOWS he killed her. He’s scum and nobody cares about him. He’s not worth time of day but to remember what an evil creep he is.
Well said. And a TORTUROUS murder or execution at that. Slow and devastating not only but mostly for Terri and her family, that family that LOVER HER that is. Not the monster who brought in other vampires to suck the life out of her when she refused to die on her own.
He actually enjoyed it.

That evening the hospice ordered pizza and salad for us and the police, and for several hours, Brian [Schiavo], Debbie [Bushnell], George [Felos] and I camped in the room with Terri whose breathing was becoming more labored. George and Brian pulled some chairs together and kind of put their feet up, and we waited. ("Terri: The Truth", pg. 314)

I think Terri knew about the evil people gathered together to kill her. I think she knew for a long time, because of the history of evil that Michael subjected her to. That’s why she screamed when she was told they were going to starve and dehydrate her again. She knew what they were doing.
IIRC, that was the bone scan where the two technicians said she’d really been worked over or words to that effect.
When she arrived at the ER she had x,y,z problems or injuries but a couple days later she had x,y,z,and a,b,c. Can’t remember it all right now but hino was suspected of trying to finish the job.
Not surprised that sick SOB did not ever break her wrists and hands and elbows when he would lock the doors of whichever nursing home he stuck her in after he got his money from the courts. He knew such breaks would be obvious. Oh how I know she suffered. God Bless her over and over and her family, as well.
He is a psychopath. Wonder how his wife is doing. Feeling a bit controlled about now...maybe trapped...surely completely freaked.
Nothing like having a clear conscience. He had reason to fear his deeds will come back to bite him.
Jody’s mother died mysteriously at Michael’s house. Jody can’t depend on any help from her mother if she tries to leave him now. I don’t know if she has anyone she can turn to.
I will never forget any of that about dear Mikey. The initial police report suspected the hubby of foul play, and then that all went away.
And then the records of the investigation were sealed in order to murder Terri and permanently eliminate any evidence of a crime.
